Is anyone else finding that the bedrock portal does not go to the bedrock dimension, it just teleports you a hundred blocks or so into the air?
Sounds like a mod is playing with the spawn position again, last time it was galacticraft. What happens is some mod alters where you spawn, so you end up spawning touching the portal to return you home

I have been playing with this mod in the Mage Quest FTB mod pack and I
made the "Osmotic Enchanter" and went to use it to enchant my "Pickaxe
Of The Core" and my game crashed and I can no longer load my save as it
just crashes my client.

For now, downloading MCEdit (mine was sooooo outdated) and loading the world, moving to the osmotic enchanter, selecting it and deleting it (with the delete button, not the delete blocks button) fixed my world. Don't even bother placing another enchanter though, I tested a bit further and ALL enchantments ruin the world. Just go into cheat mode, press X in your inventory and manually cheat whatever enchants you want onto your pickaxe.
(but seriously, I had version 0.1.8 build 799... SUPER outdated.)

It doesn't seem to be anything to do with spawning; I try to step into a Bedrock Portal and the portal just teleports me a hundred blocks or so straight up. I drop straight into the portal, unless I choose to fly off to the side ... lather, rinse, repeat. My world's spawnpoint has not been changed and is working as expected (other than the known issue of "Beds fail to set player spawn point on Cauldron servers").

I cannot reproduce this issue. In fact I just re-enchanted my Thaumium Fortress Thigh Guards on the Osmotic Enchanter to remove the Ascent Boost enchant from them, and it went without a hitch.
(That enchant sounds like a great idea, but dear elder gods, it gets annoying fast. At this point the only twothree TT-specific enchants I'm still using are Pounce, Quick Draw and Vampirism. Though Quick Draw honestly doesn't seem to do much, at least on a Thaumcraft 4 Bow of Bone.)

You are using an old version of TT. This has been fixed and in the new version the old worlds work

I seem to be noticing alot of modpack changelogs (ftb infinity) saying they have updated TT to 2.5.470, but in the downloads, the version number does not go that high. Is there a different downloads link I'm not aware of? Or do these modpack makers have early access to your work?
How do you unlock the Kami research in TC 4.2? Does it still depend on researching the Staff Core of the Primal? And if so, doesn't the fact that you need to be somewhat insane to get there in TC now go against the spirit of the Kami mod?

It did not require the Primal core research for me. It DID require that I research the all-but-useless Research Duplication.
So how exactly is KAMI unlocked currently? All TT and TC research? Does this also include Forbidden knowledge? Perhaps simply have KAMI require a few specific researches, that must all be completed to unlock KAMI.
Possible KAMI prerequisites:
Osmotic Enchanter, with or without all the enchantments.
Runic Shielding and upgrades.
All Elemental Wand Cores and Thaumium Wand Caps.
Wand Focus: Warding.
Thaumic Restorer. (Also perhaps rename this to something such as Thaumic Revitalizer? Something that flows better)
All elemental tools. (Pickaxe of the Core, Axe of the Stream, etc.)
Thaumium Golems, and Cores of Sorting, Alchemy, and Guard.
Node Mastery, and Research Mastery.
This is all I could think of without having the Thaumonomicon actually open in front of me, so there are probably more/alternatives that would work better. But you get the idea.
Basically high-tier research from every tab, to symbolize a sort of mastery, without requiring every single research, and having KAMI as a viable alternative to the Eldritch stuff. I tried to think of researches that weren't too high in Warp.

Also, finding the option to disable Kami was a little more difficult than it should be, in my opinion. Could it be moved up in the config file to be at the top of the config options, since it's such a large change?

Looks like making a dislocation foci gives you warp but the entry in thaunomicon is not marked as forbidden

So I tried to create a Tempest Seed (Air + Water) just to see what happens. It crashes the game.

Hmm...that's something I guess. So what are the rules now? Research everything in regular TC and TT except the Forbidden Magics?
for some reason this mod does not work if you are play with better storage as well.
There is a conflict in the enchantment ids, you need to either change better storage's enchantment id or TT's enchantment ID
