This mod no longer has a dev team actually anyone who is a skilled coder should speak to the last torch bearer cannibalvox. I want it for 1.8.9 and 1.7.10 is still broken.

All the code is on GitHub if anyone want's to work on it.
But as of now, it's dead.
what are the permissions to create a port to the newer versions, would it be possible to create a modding tool that makes it easier to update with the new versions?

Since the source code that mods build on changes each update, it's probably mostly the matter of changing it so it works with the new features.
Besides each mod uses diferent parts of the source code, so making a tool to change them to fit would probably be neigh imposible.
long shot posting here but since so many people love this mod i thought id ask. has anyone got a video tutorial on how to create and spawn in your own created dungeons? or able to make a video or post screenies on how to make them. following the instructions from the 1.7.10 config folder didnt help at all, no matter what i do it just fails to generate

since it was dabbled with by a different modder for 1.7, i think those commands might only work in the 1.6.4 version
I may be becoming inspired to take up the coding torch. Still have to learn about how mod coding works, familiarize myself with the existing code, and also have to work around work/personal life, but I'll do what I can.

Well if you get it running, I'll be sure to test it for bugs
Update: A 1.8.9 port is slowly taking shape, and I hope to get one out for 1.9 after that. Github repo here if anyone's interested.
Will you keep the body-less monoliths from the original 1.6.4 mod by the original authors, or did you fork it from the guy that did that one 1.7.10 port?

I forked the 1.7.10 port, so I guess there are monoliths with bodies. I haven't actually gotten to that part of the code yet >.> As of right now though, my plan is just to get the mod working with more recent versions of Minecraft before I start adding/changing features. So in short, body-less monoliths are still a possibility!

Well just be sure to check the last 1.6.4 code fro stevenRS, since the original author was going to make a big update, but gave up somewhere along the way, so I bet there's some half finished code in the indev versions, might give you ideas for new features after you update it.
Alright, maybe it's just me....but I don't quite understand the purpose of this mod. Given, it's cool looking and you get to jump into weird looking dimensions. But....what is the goal of this? I've tried it a few times. Except for getting a pocket dimension for yourself (which you can probably get much easier from Random Things), I don't see what else you really get out of this. You die a lot if you wander too much, maybe 1 out of 20 places you show up you might find a treasure chest, which doesn't offer a lot, and it's also kind of glitchy. The dimension doors themselves seem to break after a while.
I mean....if you had a boss to fight, or more treasure to find, then yeah....I can see it. I mean Runic Dungeons does that. You jump into a dimension, fight monsters, get treasure....straight forward. This one....I just don't get it. Maybe it's for those Dr. Who fans or something, I dunno. Maybe someone can explain the attraction. It looks like something I want to like, but it just comes out empty every time.

1. A personal storage dimension
2. Chance to delve into dungeons that offer rewards similar to an average dungeon chest with minimal risk as long as you are really careful, with little-to-none repercussions if you die. The glitches are mostly from a non-finished 1.7 port, except for going deeper than 10 layers, which is supposed to be weird.
3. The ability to instantly travel between two locations.
4. the abiltiy to spawn endermen and farm world thread by breaking reality in a semi-localised manner
(In regard to a mod that gives realistic animal genetics):
Would you really rather have bees that make diamonds and oil with magical genetic blocks?
... did I really ask that?
i'm playing since a long time MC 1.7.10 modpacks and befor that, it was tekkit lite. one of the mods i really miss, is the dimensional doors mod. especially because of the warp doors, they are great to connecting some far far away areas together
now i wanna ask you if the warp doors are stable to use in a 1.7.10 modpack, if i will install the Dimdoor mod?
i saw a download for MC 1.7.10 at mod-minecraft.net, mod version 2.2.4-353.jar. can i install the mod in my modfolder and use the warpdoors, without breaking something?
sorry, if something sounds wired, english is not my mother tongue

Well for the most part, the original author only updated it to 1.6.4, than he disappeared. i think
Than some othr guy ported it to 1.7.10 and disappeared.
And now some third guy is porting it to 1.8/9.
So yes it is ok, but if there's any bugs they will never be fixed.

Until someone ports this legendary mod I am leaving the minecraft scene. http://www.cosc.canterbury.ac.nz/greg.ewing/minecraft/mods/ArchitectureCraft/#mozTocId598776 I have watched too many legendary mods die and carpenters blocks sudden fallout out of mainstream made me cry. I realize the source is messy but some of the best mods from 1.6.4 and 1.7.10 were.

Hello mod creator! I just want to let you know I'm using your mod in my mod pack InsanityCraft:

Can this mod be used on a server also, giving each player an personal dimension?
Can other players be invited into a personal dimension?
Can a personal dimension be extended with other rooms?

Can't help you with coding unfortunately, but you have my full moral support
Go for it!!

Long-distance travel with reasonable balance.
Dungeons to explore and loot (for a long time, the redstone stuff was a bigger treasure than the chests)
Emergency travel between worlds/ages if you've lost linking books (nb: not sure if this ability made it into 1710 or not)
