The 1.7.2 version was still pretty compatible with 1.7.10, infact, the cake issue was literally the only error that came up when moving the code from 1.7.2 to 1.7.10 (caused by some bounding box changes). The cakes aren't exactly a major item, so it's understandable that some people never would've came across the crash. =P
Just updated the 1.8 version to v1.0.9g. This should hopefully fix a crash when Ice Cream Sandwich Creepers attempt to spawn into the world during normal gameplay. If you're using 1.7.10 you should still be fine with the current version.

Also, kind of a ridiculous question because I'm rather inexperienced with coding and mods, but I'm running this along with the Fossils and Archeology mod and Mo Creatures. Do you think these other mods are affecting their spawn rates?

Actually, the creepers aren't rare in the least. They're a LITTLE hard to find but...not really! The problem instead was custom mob spawner, a mod I had installed for the purpose of Mo Creatures. It turns out I don't need custom mob spawner for mo creatures, and it was getting in the way of my mobs from fossils/archeology AND ice cream sandwich creepers. As soon as I removed the mod, I IMMEDIATELY started seeing these guys everywhere x3.
Updated the 1.7.10 and 1.8 versions to v1.1.0a! After quite a lot of deliberation, I finally decided to add the ability to craft your own ice cream! Depending on which flavor you want, it still can be a bit tricky, requiring you to visit jungle and snow biomes, but it serves as a nice alternative to the normal gameplay. Of course, if you don't like this, it can be disabled in the config. =)
Changelog:
Added 4 new items (oranges, strawberries, mint leaves, vanilla beans.) Vanilla beans occasionally drop from destroyed grass in jungle biomes, strawberries and mint leaves can drop from grass everywhere else. Oranges have a changes to drop from destroyed/decaying leaves just like apples. New ice cream crafting recipes using new ingredients. All ingredients are edible but give 0 hunger. Chocolate wafers now edible but heal 0. Added config option to turn off ingredient drops if you wish to disable the ability to craft ice cream. New vanilla textures and a new chocolate wafer texture, as well as other minor texture edits. Reworded armor set bonus and added to lang. Slows from ice cream/sandwiches now give a message. Ice Cream Sandwich Creepers should now correctly spawn in the day.
Um, are you saying there's now VANILLA wafers? If not, I would like those. Yays.
Whoops, heh, I see how that sentence could be misconstrued. It's actually new vanilla textures, and a new chocolate wafer texture. I'll edit it to make it a bit more clear.
I'd considered adding vanilla wafers in the past, but they'd functionally be the same, and would mean doubling the amount of items and textures. But maybe eventually. It's just a ton of work. =P

This is a most glorious mod. A friendly suggestion, How about instead of the default creeper face maybe put the derpy face on them? Adorable and delicious :3 Oh and is it possible to change how often the icecream creepers spawn?
