Hey. I have been trying to get schematic to work on my computer. About a month ago i got it to work but i forgot how to put the structures into the folder so i can make them. When I tried selecting "open schematic folder" in "select Schematica file" it goes to nothing. I am using a mac. Please respond as soon as possible.

It might be that something is preventing the file manager that you're using from starting up. I use the same mechanism as vanilla uses for the "Open Worlds Folder" button, so if that doesn't work it's most likely something unrelated.
there is a bug in using schematica, so i exported a structure in another world and i am looking at one part of the structure (one point) that show a slab.. i looked at the materials list and it mentioned "Wooden slab"
and its supposed to be "Oak plank Slab", even i placed the oak slab at where i am looking at (one point) and it turned red, that it doesn't match..
please look in it and see if you can try fix it.
and one more thing to add: when i wanted to rotate the structure that has the stairs in it... The stairs are not facing the correct direction as the structure arefacing Never mind.. it was my fault.
I am using 1.8.9-latest version and i noticed these problems.. but i haven't used the 1.10.2 version yet.
one more thing you may want to improve.. is the color of the ghost blocks while being under water... I have hard time trying to tell if i placed the correct block, i can't even tell if its red or green when i am under water because water is blocking what i am seeing.
i am using Schematica to build ships in survival and its fun... but under water.. not so fun.
There's a good bit of graphical errors with it though sadly. :C What version of liteloader/forge does it work best with?
Also is it compatible with Optifine?
Without a bug report I can't fix any kind of bug/crash/issue. It was compiled against Forge 12.18.0.2006 and should work fine with that version. I'd also test without optifine and Liteloader because both mods have been known to cause some kind of issue with Schematica and other mods.

The slab in the schematic might be the old stone slab with a wooden texture. Check the debug screen tooltip to check the block name.

Anything under water will look really bad. Do night vision potions not improve the visibility of the markers?

ok i will look in it..
I did tried "night vision" potions.. but they barely help me.. but water get in the way of what i am looking at.. which is why i am having difficult time to able to tell if i placed the correct block... the structure of ship would have oak plank under the water.. I have night vision while being in creative.. i even placed the wrong block "birch plank" to see if i can see it.. but i can't even see the color that say its wrong block... night potion dont help me at all. but i will endure with this problem for now.. i hope you would able to find a way around that problem.
==================================
i have looked in it. and i see why.. i must say that schematica of the ship i got from planetminecraft website... and that structure, the ship is using is quite outdated.. the name of these slab are also outdated..
so never mind.. i thought it was a bug.. but now it wasn't a bug. it was just a simple outdated information regarding the block used in structure.

Have you tried the respiration enchantment on the helmet? Last time I checked that made it a lot easier to see under water.
You can fix those old slabs and replace them with new ones. /schematicaReplace stone_slab[variant=wood] wooden_slab[variant=oak] should replace the slabs with the new, wood type slabs.
Hi there, I have a question about schematica. I recently learned about it from a friend. I have seen him build some amazing things and I want to try this myself. My question is this:
Can I find an image online or something and use this mod to create it? Do I have to log into a server in order to save a build?
I was reading the website and the FAQ but i see nothing that speaks to this. Sorry it is a nab question but I see cool things I want to build and I would like to use this mod to do so. The thing is the things I see are Google images.

By image, do you mean a schematic file? In that case, yes - otherwise you'll need a tool like Spritecraft to convert images to schematic files.

Sorry I did not mean a schematic file I meant something like the attached image. Just a random Google image that I like. If I use the Spritecraft tool will it do a 3D thing?
I mean taking a regular image like that to use in schematica so that it can tell me where the blocks need to go and such.

Uhh... there is no such tool. Conversion between 3D and 2D is an irreversible action. The third dimension, the depth, is forever lost and there is no way to convert a 2D image back to a 3D object/structure.

So that image that I placed would it just look like a pixel art thing then?

Quick not of an Issue I am running into-
The mod loads and wroks technically fine.
The printer in 1.10 sucks.. it deletes blocks when the break block is false and it doesnt correctly fill in the blocks more often than not. I love this plugin and I use it daily its a great mod but somethign changed between 1.9 and 1.10 in the printer is there any way to remedy this? Specifically working with wool pixel art and machines.

Thanks so much either way for this wonderful mod.
Some schematic no longer work properly in 1.10 because the save format for some blocks changed. Droppers and dispensers for example have a new property that defaults to "true", but in the old schematics that property is "false", most likely causing the issue that you're having. I'd have to check if the same thing applies to wool blocks.
Mods > Schematica > Config > Printer > Place Instantly
Not directly. If you are in creative you can load an air schematic and enable block destruction.

Any chance of an update to 1.10.2?
It has been out for 1.10.2 for almost (if not over) 2 months now.

Is there a way to change all the ghost block into real block but not placing them one by one. Like all of them in 1 click ?
that would be useful if you are doing it in creative mode.

Not all of them at once, but as suggested you can turn on creative mode and enable instant placement in the config.

Yes, spritecraft would generate a schematic that would be a flat, 1 block thick rectangle.
Some schematic no longer work properly in 1.10 because the save format for some blocks changed. Droppers and dispensers for example have a new property that defaults to "true", but in the old schematics that property is "false", most likely causing the issue that you're having. I am still having trouble with just plain wool blocks placing correctly, not just machines. <3
