Love this mod, I'm using it on a 1.6.4 modded server and noticed that the placer doesn't differentiate blocks with different metadata (Smeltery blocks for instance are all the same block id with a different metadata) so when you create a building out of, say Seared Stone and Seared CobbleStone (1474:4 and 1474:5 respectively) it will not place the correct block in the correct place but instead just vomit out whatever you have in your inventory with an ID of 1474 regardless of meta data. The blueprint will show the correct blocks though which is why this is weird to me. Is there a way to fix this in 1.6.4 or will I just have to deal with it in older packs?
What's even funnier is when it does this it will highlight the blocks it placed in the wrong place. E.G: http://img.techpowerup.org/141023/Capture768.jpg
The printer and the renderer are separate. The renderer will mark any block with different orange, no matter it's ID/state. As for the printer, all metadata exclusions were hardcoded. It would require too much work to add mod support for that in 1.6. Even in 1.7 it was a PITA to figure out something that works nicely (still have to add mod blocks, but it's WAY easier now, all it requires is the block name).
Short answer, you'll have to deal with it in older packs. There's quite a few modpacks out for 1.7.10 (ModSauce, Bevo's TechPack, ...) and a few upcoming ones (dw20, ...). It's been almost a year since 1.7.10 started and it's about time things move on. We're getting close to 1.8 anyway.
I actually thought something like the printer was easyer now, thought blocks was registed in Forge with names and not ID's
But in any case, I love this mod, build something fancy in creative SP, make a schematic and build in MP SV
It is, the code that supports the addition of mod blocks is in place, but I don't feel like going over hundreds of mods to manually add support for them.
I may try to write up some instructions to allow players to help out with it.
Can i copy a schematic from a singleplayer world and make a hologramm of it on a multiplayer server? If yes that is exactly the mod i searched for. Unfortunately the server I'm playing on is on 1.8. I hope this mod will be updated.
Yes. You can import them anywhere you like to, can even share them with friends.
excellent mod that schematica. although i've had a couple odd issues.
created a building in my single player flatworld (creative). saved the schematic with schematica.
logged into my multiplayer world and loaded the schematic.
now yesterday it loaded but some of the blocks (stairs/double chests) were not rotated correctly. the printer would still print them (in the incorrect orientation as displayed) and i'd have to remove the object and replace it, with schematica showing it as a red block. now today i loaded it up and it seemed fine and printed as usual. so that issue seems to be intermittent.
the other issue is that the material list is all wonky with the same icon showing for multiple objects and the names being completely wrong, which of course, wouldn't let me print the actual object because of the different name.
for instance. in my inventory i show 2 doors (which my building only has one) printed fine but if it wasn't a door i may have made more than i needed.
another for instance. my inventory shows the icon for stone brick, named stone brick monster egg, amount 1500. so normal stone brick won't print i'm assuming because of the bad name.
another shows the stone brick icon and says stone bricks slab. but then i have another that has the stone brick slab icon and also says stone brick slab. one shows amount as 8 and the other shows 192. stone brick slabs print fine and i'm assuming it's the 192 amount but....yeah....
any ideas? other than those issues this mod is still a massive time saver.

The material list most likely has quite a few issues with modded items, but vanilla should be (almost) complete now. You might've used the silverfish blocks in the SP world which is why it shows up as Monster Brick Monster Egg.
The slabs are most likely the same issue. 2 half slabs basically turn into a special double slab block and make it hard to work with. I've considered adding mappings for those blocks so that double slabs would be displayed as normal bricks. Though I doubt that I'll be doing that in 1.7, I already have to rewrite a big portion of the stuff and I'll have to rewrite it again in 1.8. I might just hardcode it for 1.7, not much else I can do about it.
The things with doors is, do I ignore the bottom or the upper part? I may or may not be missing doors if only one part of the door was saved. I'm open to suggestions on this one.
I thought tht fml for 1.8 was already fully released? Or at least in a usable state? some mods have already been released? Or am i no understanding your response?
The problem is that Schematica relies on a lot of Forge stuff. Even with FML for 1.8 out there's very little I can get working right now (maybe GUIs and simple stuff, no rendering).
I have an issue I've encountered ever since i switched to my new pc. I've been using this mod for a while now and i would love to have it on this pc too! the game can pop up the GUI when i hit the keys and i can select a zone with the red/blue but whenever i hit save, nothing happens. it doesn't show up in the load schematic screen and if i click ''open schematic folder'' nothing opens. I tried creating the file manually but that didn't work either.

btw im running all my mods for 1.7.2
forge: 1147
lunatrius: 1.0.2.7
schematica: 1.7.0.79
Could you pastebin.com .minecraft/logs/fml-client-latest.log?
after a quick look in the logs the error seems to be around line 3270 (if that's of any help for you) but im too big of a noob to know how to fix that error xD

None right now. I looked a bit into it and it's quite a mess. The fact that CBMP (FMP) is written in scala makes it even harder to debug stuff.
Adfly? I haven't used adfly for months.
Yes. You can import them anywhere you like to, can even share them with friends.
You mean filtering the schematics when you're opening a schematic? Shouldn't be too hard, did something similar in InGame Info XML.

There is a bit of a delay on Forge, the patches are still being ported to 1.8.

You can hide it on the control GUI.
It may be that you don't have permission to write to that folder. Try changing the folder location in the config and see if that fixes the issue.
i feel kinda dumb but at least now i know xD
keep up the awesome work i love you and your mods.
