We've not heard of strawberries causing lag. Vanilla minecraft has a lot of lag even without mods. My game was actually unplayable and I have a good computer. What fixed this was installing Fastcraft and increasing the amount of memory allocated to the game. I now run 160+ mods and the only lag I really experience is when I first load into a new area.
I'm not sure if this makes sense, but it could be Minecraft handling the strawberries in Fast graphics incorrect bc it has a partially transparent texture but idk for sure

I just thought of this:
So once I was on a creative plot with a friend and I was lagging like heck (1.7.2 so no Fastcraft :P). We (I) had gone crazy with the bonemeal so we had a small forest of grass and flowers (and a couple custom-built trees). She started spamming glowstone around and I crashed and when I cam eback I only got about 3 FPS. I ran a google search and found that grass and flowers actually cause lag (probably not as significant as the redstone I had, but the redstone also wasn't powered). Because the strawberries are kind of a grass/flower-like block, maybe they're causing some lag?
I've also heard modded blocks in bulk cause lag so if they were in an area with a lot of strawberries that could cause a little lag.
With all due respect, puppy, "I've also heard" is normally the way rumors begin, not facts.
The truth is that modded blocks are no different than vanilla blocks...they just have different textures and properties...so a mod's dirt is basically the same a vanilla's stone to the code...nothing to cause lag..
However, some blocks, like the vanilla furnace, are attached to ticking tile entities, this normally doesn't cause lag in vanilla because the blocks don't do anything complicated...but in a mod, the ticking tile entity might be handling complex calculations, so too many can cause lag.
Transparent textures don't normally cause lag, either, unless you have a nominal system. The GPU handles transparency for the most part, so there should be no extra drag on the CPU.

I read it on a modded support forum tbh. It could've easily been for other blocks.
(I do lag a lot more when using biome mods, which would probably be from the leaves as my game is unplayable if I spawn in/near a jungle.)
Believe me, my system is... not good. It's just plain... *shivers* I have a TABLET that can run PC Minecraft better than my computer (using the Boardwalk app... Loading is pretty slow though).

What can cause a lot of lag is when your memory settings are bad or, as Annysia suggested, when your machine isn't powerful enough any more. Minecraft is very system intensive and mods raise the memory requirements.
The only time EBXL should cause any meaningful amount of lag is when the world is generating large trees while exploring. Otherwise, performance is comparable to unmodded.

I feel like I'm the only person who learned about this mod from Stacyplays xD This is an epic mod though and honestly, it's one of the few mods I would run without actually putting it in a pack (It does spice it up quite a bit, though...)

Good call I've been using it since the start. Now, when MC updates (and if I want to update too), I won't move on until EBXL is ready with its the next version.

I won't move on at all xD I can't run forge for 1.6, 1.8, and half the 1.7.10 versions Don't ask me when 1.6 broke because I have no clue... I feel like it's because our computer force-updated and installed Java 8 for us (which I know people who have had issues running Java 8 and Forge together)

Am I supposed to crash like this? (I disabled Alpines at this point but it gave me the same crash). I had just updated my EBXL version from a version a few months old to something slightly more recent.

I always set the biome ID of EBXLBiomes to -1 if I disable them, because they still seem to conflict if they are turned off and using their original ID. At least that was the behaviour for me when I last had problems with biomes. Is this still actual?
No, when I updated I forgot to delete the outdated file xD It was late at night

Catch NoSuchFieldError's when loading plugins to disable integration when people break their own API's with future updates.
As reported at https://github.com/ForestryMC/ForestryMC/issues/783, Forestry chose to break its own API along with compatibility with every mod using it. They could have chosen to be backwards compatible, but they have not. This is a huge change in position since SirSengir first wrote the Forestry compatibility code for Extrabiomes. Basically, the Forestry devs are saying: "We messed everything up. Too bad. Go talk to the other guy. It is their fault that we are not going to fix it."
We sympathize. It is unfortunate that the Forestry devs have put you in this position. Relative to the Forestry team, we have very limited development resources...and the truth is that the Forestry devs, if they cared about this issue, could easily submit a patch for Extrabiomes through github. They are choosing to redirect your frustrations to us rather than own the design choice they made that put you in this situation.
Can you please add biomes like Lothlorien and Mordor from LOTR mod and radioactive wastelands?
We currently are only adding biomes that are true to life, although there is a good chance we might add fantasy type biomes in the future. As the LoTR mod adds those that are specific to the books, I'm not sure that we would want to duplicate what's already been done.
As you are very experienced with biomes, maybe you can work together with them and make it an add-on to both your mods?
You were going to make the mod modular anyway, right?
Yes, the mod is going modular and fantasy biomes would be something in the future that we are looking at adding. LoTR mod is a dimension mod similar to Twilight Forest. LoTR mod would have to make our biomes load in their dimension if we did add that type of biome down the line, which is something they may not want since they already add their own specific biomes.
I'm not sure if this makes sense, but it could be Minecraft handling the strawberries in Fast graphics incorrect bc it has a partially transparent texture but idk for sure

Crash with last versions Forestry unstable http://pastebin.com/gYwhBgkG
https://github.com/ForestryMC/ForestryMC/issues/783
Full circle and no answers...
I use 639 version of forestry. This higgest version, on which works Extrabiomes and BoP. I send this crash on BoP topic.
Hey , just thought I'd ask how the development is coming?
I've asked Allaryin to respond here or make a blog post as he would be able to give more information about that since he's doing the coding.
