Hello, this is my first post in a very long time. I recently got a new PC with a GTX 1050ti and wanted to download and instal the SEUS shaders, because I have never had such an expensive PC before. So I downloaded optifine (as that is a listed step) and tried to run it. But to my surprise Windows 10 asked me to find a program that can run it. I found java.exe in the 'Find another app on this PC' and try to run it. It basically just opened a black dialog box. So then I tried to find javaw.exe, and ran it, but it doesn't do anything this time.
This is a clean istall of Windows done by a local professional. I have only installed novabench and minecraft, and the rest was already installed. I am 90% certain I have 32bit java due to in being under Program Files (x86).
Sorry for typos and gramatical errors, I do not have patience to proofread. But help me find a way to run and install this program, please!

Yeah, you need to install 64bit java on your windows machine. Here is the link: https://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp . Just be sure you click on the one that says "Windows Offline (64-bit)".

I still am not being able to open it. It does the same thing. I just installed 64 bits java, but it did not do anything. I am thinking maybe I have to reset the default program, but I am not sure. Do you have any more suggestions?
EDIT: I have not figured it out yet, but I have now changed the default program to javaw.exe from the 64 bit programs folder. it still does not work, but I feel as though I am getting closer.

Is there any insight on what is causing the phantom-block problem (as in the screenshot below) with 1.10.2_HD_U_D7, or any suggestions for config changes that might solve it?
As previously reported, the floating blocks shown here do not exist. They are mirages. You can see a fully detailed rendering of the block, but there is no block there and never has been. You can walk right through them.

So i have used optifine for many years with out problems. Im coming back to minecraft coming back from a 2 year break.
And for some reason im having issues with optifine crashing the game. The crashes only happen when I try to load in to any world. I can mess with the advance video options.
I have tried reinstalling minecraft. And i went to the settings and reset video settings to the default settings. I have tried lots of the things I am finding online. So coming here is my last resort. im normally pretty good at fixing things.

You might have tried it while my connection was down. I've been having ISP troubles, uplink going down as much as several times a day, and so far, the ISP can't find the problem.
I searched this topic but from the looks of it, this should be fixed. I'm using Optifine 1.10.2_HD_U_D8 and my elytra disappears when I have capes on. If I don't equip elytra, I can see the default OF cape but when I equip elytra, my elytra and cape disappears.
Last versions of OptiFine(older than version 1.7.10_HD_U_D4) is causing to crash game during use of Compact machines mod.
I tried to enter in first compact machine block and all fine, but if i try to enter in any second compact machine block then after few seconds of loading my client is crashed. After restarting game, client crashes after loading save. I may only use save from earlier backup. This happens even if only compact machines and OptiFine are installed.I tried to reset the graphics settings to the default settings, but that did not help.
Now I use an earlier version of Optifine (OptiFine_1.7.10_HD_U_D4) and everything works well.

I am not sure if this is the place for it but. What would cause the custom item texture thing for a 32x texture bow not work? I have compared it to other resource packs and tried to get it to match but for some reason when I rename the bow the texture doesn't change.

I usually get 140fps (720p fancy settings with far render distance) on average but that fluctuates by as much as 40fps, but never drops below 60. Without optifine it's hard to say as it fluctuates down to as low as 4fps during loading but it's about 60fps on average. Check my specs in the signature below.

Hello, this is my first post in a very long time. I recently got a new PC with a GTX 1050ti and wanted to download and instal the SEUS shaders, because I have never had such an expensive PC before. So I downloaded optifine (as that is a listed step) and tried to run it. But to my surprise Windows 10 asked me to find a program that can run it. I found java.exe in the 'Find another app on this PC' and try to run it. It basically just opened a black dialog box. So then I tried to find javaw.exe, and ran it, but it doesn't do anything this time.
This is a clean istall of Windows done by a local professional. I have only installed novabench and minecraft, and the rest was already installed. I am 90% certain I have 32bit java due to in being under Program Files (x86).
Sorry for typos and gramatical errors, I do not have patience to proofread. But help me find a way to run and install this program, please!

Yeah, you need to install 64bit java on your windows machine. Here is the link: https://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp . Just be sure you click on the one that says "Windows Offline (64-bit)".
I still am not being able to open it. It does the same thing. I just installed 64 bits java, but it did not do anything. I am thinking maybe I have to reset the default program, but I am not sure. Do you have any more suggestions?
EDIT: I have not figured it out yet, but I have now changed the default program to javaw.exe from the 64 bit programs folder. it still does not work, but I feel as though I am getting closer.

Is there any insight on what is causing the phantom-block problem (as in the screenshot below) with 1.10.2_HD_U_D7, or any suggestions for config changes that might solve it?
As previously reported, the floating blocks shown here do not exist. They are mirages. You can see a fully detailed rendering of the block, but there is no block there and never has been. You can walk right through them.
The image is broken, you might want to fix that. I doesn't show up for me.

So i have used optifine for many years with out problems. Im coming back to minecraft coming back from a 2 year break.
And for some reason im having issues with optifine crashing the game. The crashes only happen when I try to load in to any world. I can mess with the advance video options.
I have tried reinstalling minecraft. And i went to the settings and reset video settings to the default settings. I have tried lots of the things I am finding online. So coming here is my last resort. im normally pretty good at fixing things.

You might have tried it while my connection was down. I've been having ISP troubles, uplink going down as much as several times a day, and so far, the ISP can't find the problem.
Latest preview B9 should fix it.
I searched this topic but from the looks of it, this should be fixed. I'm using Optifine 1.10.2_HD_U_D8 and my elytra disappears when I have capes on. If I don't equip elytra, I can see the default OF cape but when I equip elytra, my elytra and cape disappears.
Last versions of OptiFine(older than version 1.7.10_HD_U_D4) is causing to crash game during use of Compact machines mod.
I tried to enter in first compact machine block and all fine, but if i try to enter in any second compact machine block then after few seconds of loading my client is crashed. After restarting game, client crashes after loading save. I may only use save from earlier backup. This happens even if only compact machines and OptiFine are installed.I tried to reset the graphics settings to the default settings, but that did not help.
Now I use an earlier version of Optifine (OptiFine_1.7.10_HD_U_D4) and everything works well.

I am not sure if this is the place for it but. What would cause the custom item texture thing for a 32x texture bow not work? I have compared it to other resource packs and tried to get it to match but for some reason when I rename the bow the texture doesn't change.

Greetings. I am having issues with modded leaves using the latest optifine, shaders and Biomes o Plenty.
Modded leaves are rendering without their colors being applied. Here is a screenshot:
TL;DR, my modded trees have white leaves, is there a fix coming soon?

I'm getting dynamic lights cast when holding a bow. Using 1.11.2 HD U B9.
"Video Settings -> Other -> Reset Video Settings" should fix it.

I usually get 140fps (720p fancy settings with far render distance) on average but that fluctuates by as much as 40fps, but never drops below 60. Without optifine it's hard to say as it fluctuates down to as low as 4fps during loading but it's about 60fps on average. Check my specs in the signature below.
