Also I had a thought the other day- Would it be possible to add presets to the Optifine installer? For example, upon install there are several buttons instead of just [Install]. One will set everything to the minimum (max fps), low, medium, high, or Ultra (max quality) settings so that people who don't know what to change can use it more easily. Or so people who install it on a lot of computers don't have to go through 20 settings every single time they install... I suppose this could also work from the in-game menu too.
This agitates me.... why would you turn down your code being implemented! It would have been excellent to have a smoother minecraft experience in vanilla minecraft!
You aren't the only one thinking the same thing. Mojang's Vanilla version would benefit DRAMATICALLY from hiring and teaming up with the Optifine project. I mean they managed to negotiate with the creators of the Bukkit project, it wouldn't hurt for them to try again someday.
If the creators of the Optifine mod worked for Mojang, it would result in the project being officialized and recognized by Mojang as a part of the Vanilla content, which means it receives support when things break down. Secondly, their job at Mojang would be the very same thing that Optifine is meant to do, which is to increase the performance of the game. The third reason? Of course! Vanilla would have the opportunity to IMMEDIATELY receive the performance benefits that are provided by the mod.
Honestly, he might just be a modder now, but his motivation and his pursuit of perfection could land him a great career one day. sp614x should be very proud of himself for his efforts.
Do you think DDR4 memory could make a bit to solve the memory allocation issue with the extra speed it has?
Unlikely. DDR3 and even DDR2 memory is still quite fast. What really matters is the speed that your processor can determine which memory needs to be emptied.

Also my clouds are flickering quite often when flying around, might be multi-core chunk loading related?

Framerate is shown at 60, but micro-lagspikes make it appear as if it is in the 20s. Only occurs when looking in certain directions.
Edit: I believe I might have found the source of the micro-lagspikes. It seems that whenever I look through glass, is when the frames begin to spike.

Wel, let's se if a tech reviewer makes the tes. LinusTechTips made one pretty cool of DDR3 to DDR4 "apples to apples" compare.
Are you playing in windowed mode or full screen?
Fullscreen.
