could someone pls help me to get rid of certain mobs in mocreatures? i have disabled them in the mo creatures config setting as well as the custom spawner settings
if you have CMS, the moc config settings for mobs do nothing
do you have BOP? if you do you are editing the wrong file due to strange interaction between BOP and CMS.
if you don't you can go into the biome group list and empty the slot for bee's. You can also go into the entity type config file and set the entity spawn limit to 1.
btw, don't set the min and max spawn limits to be the same, it can cause some issues.
also, this will not kill any mobs if you disable them.
use the /cms killall command. you will have to tell it which mob to kill but you'll get a list of mobs if you just use /cms killall

OK. thanks for replying. I do have BOP. What would I need to do to disable certain mobs for this as there is a lot more than just the bees that I am trying to disable. You mentioned IF I had CMS. Does this mean that I can delete CMS? I thought it was a dependency mod for Moc. I appreciate your help.

you haven't needed CMS since 1.6.4, you can use JAS if you want. Not using a mob spawn control mod will not let you disable mobs if you are in 1.7.10. I can't say for the 1.10.x version.
you just need to find the right file in CMS to disable them.
I can never remember off hand which folder it is in with BOP. Can you tell me what folders you have in the CMS folder besides the overworld, nether, end, and logs folders?
once you get the right folder you just mod the files, starting with the freq of the mobs you don't want and setting them to 0. also, if you don't want any of the ambient mobs to spawn you can do what I said about and set the max in the entity type file to 1 and that will really limit them from spawning.
if setting freq to 0 doesn't work, empty the biome group list for each mob you don't want. I rarely have mobs survive that.

please someone help i really dont want bugs and i have been trying to disable them.
thank you for who ever helps me.
Do you want to stop Bee's from spawning at all in the overworld? Just remove the biome group completely. Like this:
bee {
S:biomegroups <> (<-remove whats between these two symbols)
B:canSpawn=false
This will stop bees from spawning period in the overworld and if you want to stop them in other worlds just do the same in those files. (customspawner>(world file)>creatures)
If you only want to keep them from spawning in certain biomes go to customspawner>(world file)>EntityBiomeGroups.cfg This file has the list of biomes each creature can spawn in. Find S:DRZHARK_BEE_DEFAULT and add or remove the biomes you do or dont want them to spawn in.
I hope this helps.
I, personally, find CMS much easier to deal with than JAS but that could very well be because I'm more use to CMS. You learn how to do something one way and its hard to switch to something else.

Thank you son much! I will test this when I get off work but I have a feeling it will work. I just wanted to disable all the bugs and birds. They dont spawn on the other dimension because there is no oxygen there because those are there planets. Also thank you for telling me how to get mobs to spawn in certain biomes as I might use this for the panda in bamboo forests.

ok, you have to mod the surfaceBop folder.
JAS is "just another spawner" it is another mob spawn control mod.
you really won't be able to get just panda's in one biome as they are a sub-species of bear and have no unique spawn settings.

Thats actually not true. The EntitiesBiomeGroup.cfg has a line for pandas.
S:DRZHARK_PANDABEAR_DEFAULT
I'm not sure if its always been like this or if it was more recent but its list of biomes doesn't include things like the Ice Plains and such so it doesn't spawn with Polar Bears. I'm not sure if it has everything broken down, though. I dont think it has Wither Skeletons singled out (unless they start with something other than W which is possible. Its a big file @w@ ).
OH! Speaking of Wither Skeletons! I remember a while back someone asking about having them only spawn in Fortrices and I think I can help. I was messing around with it and if you edit the file (cs>nether>creatures>vanilla.cfg) like this:

I have been looking in forums seeing if anyone else has had this issue, but i have not found it anywhere.
I have created a personal modpack with many mobs and all function just
fine, including mo'creatures (with mo creatures not having water
creatures spawn or vanilla horses and weird mo creatures mob spawns)
Whenever i add Custom mob spawner to this and load in the world, as soon
as i do any action besides press escape to access options or setting
(probably inventory as well, have not checked) it crashes game.
this includes movement or attempting to look around.
Now if i just load mo creatures and custom mob spawner alone they work just fine.
I understand it is likely a conflict between custom mob spawner and a
mod besides mo creatures that spawns mobs (like tinkers construct)
If anyone knows of a simple fix besides testing each and every individual mod (and all their required mods) for conflicts?
also should i post my crash report?
Btw when it crashes screen turns to background and says "shutting
down internal servers". not sure if that matters.
And merry Christmas all and thanks for the great mod.
edit: i made the same post in the mo'creatures forums along with a neatened up crash report

unfort I can't see anything off hand that would indicate what it is conflicting with, looks more like despawn issues.
does it do this on a new map or just your old one?
if it does it on a new map it is a pure conflict, if it doesn't it is an artifact from putting in CMS after starting the map.
if it does crash with any map, you can try the half at a time conflict resolution. simply put you remove half your mods each time until you find the culprit. though if you suspect davincies airships you can start there. however, I'm not sure
oh, next time, if you did, don't spread out the crash log, it actually makes it harder to read
Hi, do you have any plans to backport the new amazing models to 1.7.10 (for bigcats) and maybe some options like making them aggressive. It will be great if you do it because many mods are still not updating

Your mod is Great, thank you
yes, all changes are being backported....well most of them. models are getting backported.
could someone pls help me to get rid of certain mobs in mocreatures? i have disabled them in the mo creatures config setting as well as the custom spawner settings
examples below.
Mo creatures config:
bee {
B:canspawn=false
I:frequency=0
I:maxchunk=3
I:maxspawn=2
I:minspawn=1
custom mob spawner: (found in the customspawner>overwolrd>creatures)
bee {
S:biomegroups <BEE_DEFAULT>
B:canSpawn=false
I:frequency=0
I:maxChunk=0
I:maxLightlevel=0
I:maxSpawn=0
I:maxSpawnHeight=0
I:minLightlevel=0
I:minSpawn=0
I:minSpawnHeight=0
S:opaqueBlock=none
S:spawnBlockBlacklist <>
S:type=AMBIENT
}
please someone help i really dont want bugs and i have been trying to disable them.
thank you for who ever helps me.
if you have CMS, the moc config settings for mobs do nothing
do you have BOP? if you do you are editing the wrong file due to strange interaction between BOP and CMS.
if you don't you can go into the biome group list and empty the slot for bee's.
I am in version 1.7.10. (what is this jas and is it easier to use?)
folders in the cms config below:
acentauri
asteroids
barnardac
barnardae
barnardaf
bophell
callisto
ceres
beimos
enceladus
europa
ganymede
huamea
io
kuiper
makemake
mars
mercury
miranda
moon
oberon
phobos
pluto
proteus
surfacebop
tcetie
titan
triton
vegab
venus
wyvernend
global (note document)
Do you want to stop Bee's from spawning at all in the overworld? Just remove the biome group completely. Like this:
# skeleton
####################
skeleton {
S:biomegroups <>
B:canSpawn=true
I:frequency=75
I:maxChunk=4
I:maxLightlevel=-1
I:maxSpawn=40
I:maxSpawnHeight=256
I:minLightlevel=-1
I:minSpawn=4
I:minSpawnHeight=0
S:opaqueBlock=all
S:spawnBlockBlacklist <>
S:type=MONSTER
}
leaving the "canspawn" as true but removing the biome groups, then skeletons and withers skeletons will spawn in the Nether but only in the fortrices.
cool. never looked in the biome group list as there wasn't a specific mob section for it in the spawn settings.
edit: only in 1.10.x and up....unless those changes all get ported back to 1.7.10
Oh ok. Thats good to know. ^^
thank you. i do believed this worked.
And merry Christmas all and thanks for the great mod.
edit: i made the same post in the mo'creatures forums along with a neatened up crash report
http://mocreatures.org/forum/m/13290502/viewthread/29222398-1102-custom-mob-spawner-crash
need crash report to help, if you paste here put inside spoiler tags. the ! button in the toolbar is your spoiler button.
I can't get the crash report from the other forums.
thank you. im an idiot with programs. think it could be davincies airships from this but am not sure.
