Can somebody link me to a 1.8 version of worldedit ?
Unfortunately there isn't a 1.8 version of Worldedit, as far as I know. If you are okay working in 1.7, you can look into LiteLoader and WorldEditWrapper.
I agree completely with Krose. I always use MCedit since once you get to know it, it is very easy to use, and if you want to do something crazy like block variation or custom spawners, all you have to do is download a filter.
So, um, you know how I asked for that vines filter a few pages back? Well, I tried using it, installed it like I always have and all that, but it wouldn't show up on my filters list. I found a couple on Reddit, but the links are broken for them, and I have a kinda big area that I'd really prefer not to have to vine all by myself. So yeah, if anyone actually has a vine filter that works if you could pass that to me, that'd be great. n_n
I'm working on a miniature CTM super-docile map in my spare time, when I'm not working on my main CTM map!
It's pretty much ordinary vanilla survival with a whole bunch of secrets, 8 wool dungeons, and little treasures or traps scattered across an area the size of the largest map available.

It looks pretty nice! I've always thought about making a map where I just edit the basic terrain generation into a map, but if someone else is doing it, then I guess I will put off those ideas for now.
Also, super-doctile is copyrighted by Vechs or something so you're going to have to come up with a different name.

Yeah, I just used that term to describe the feel of the map. I'm calling the map Survival Plus.
Many new things have been added. NPC villagers have been the most major addition, and are going to be changing quite a few things.
As a reminder to those who don't know about it, Danger O' Plenty is made for Minecraft 1.8.
Change log:
+3 "Wares O' Plenty" NPC Villager Shops!
+improved Legendfire/Mythicfire
+Death Counter!
=Fixed Enchanting Table halls
+Added fun and "fun" to Victory Canyon (insert evil laugh here)
+Added sponge to int 2 so that the ice doesn't annoy you too much
+Added several new custom items
=Changed the 1st fleecyboss
=Changed/removed some of the "fortune cookie signs". Some of the most redundant/repetitive ones have been removed. Some signs were changed to be relevant
=Made int 2 hidden area slightly more obvious (and at the same time slightly less obvious)
=Tryed to fix invisible block glitches in cakewalk, but couldn't. I decided not to mess with it since i liked the cakewalkers so much.

Unfortunatly the erode brush is pretty much all there is in mcedit.
For block variation, there is the random blocks filter by sethbling.
As the other guy said, worldedit is what you need for block variation. Which really sucks in my opinion. Not sure if singleplayercommands is updated.(thats the only way to get worldedit in singleplayer, correct me if i am wrong)
Worldedit has tons of nice brushes. When a bunch of people got together to work on the community ctm, i was able to learn a bit about worldedit from the talented fellows on the server. Not sure if there are any good youtube video guides on it.
Edit: The worldedit ppl did make a worldedit forge mod, so you could use that isntead of singleplayercommands.

I thought we had a variety fill and a variety replace brush; it's in my copy.
Damnit, if I keep spoiling images of everything awesome I make there'll be no surprises left for any of you, eh?
Mostly stuff in the stronghold I discovered inside the world borders this time. I'm still deciding whether or not to connect it to the surface; there's already a natural cave linking a part of it to the surface, but I'm considering making a ruined fortification that has a staircase down to it. What do you guys think?
Also, working on this map is really fun; since it's pretty much just building silly or unique structures players can find and loot in an otherwise normal world, it's also great for whenever I get bored. I just pop in, build a couple things, and leave, something that can't be done with my other CTM as that requires specific theming of areas, and generally significantly longer build times that can't be done in 10-15 minutes.

If you want, you can just download 1.8 mcedit for Windows or Linux free here- http://khroki.github.io/MCEdit-Unified/

Hey not sure if this is right to put here but i'm doing Dev. Updates every thursday or when I feel like it.
Here you goI'm working on a miniature CTM super-docile map in my spare time, when I'm not working on my main CTM map!
It's pretty much ordinary vanilla survival with a whole bunch of secrets, 8 wool dungeons, and little treasures or traps scattered across an area the size of the largest map available.
Here's some more images!
I'm a pixel artist who makes pixel things and maps! I also do line art occasionally.
I have two work in progress resource packs!
This is the second one!
And of course, by "work-in-progress" I mean "will never, ever be completed".
It looks pretty nice! I've always thought about making a map where I just edit the basic terrain generation into a map, but if someone else is doing it, then I guess I will put off those ideas for now.

what are the best filters / brushes for MCedit ? Thanks guys !
The only mcedit brushes i know of are the ones mcedit comes with. I would say the replace brush is the best?
For filters, it depends on what your doing. I guess i use the sethblings enchant and modify item strings filters quite a bit.
