Lemme make a list of the ideas we have so far, and add my own:
- Make a server to collab on maps
- Update the OP(!!!) Atm, it's just a long list of CTMs, not sorted by rating/released date. We might want to do that, have like a "newest", "best" and "featured" section, and sort maps by gameplay/aesthetics.
- Organize new jams.
-Help out new mapmakers.
- Make maps more like survival minecraft, less like adventure maps
- Have aura streaming more often, and get people in there. To me, it kinda feels like a place where most newer mapmakers come and get help/feedback while enjoying aura, while "veterans" can help out while watching an entertaining stream with great commentary.
We should definitely setup a place to like communicate with whoever wants to help to make stuff work again, and get it going. Any1?
Oh yeah, I probably should stream some more, I just realized.....Would anyone like to see a stream? I'm technically open for one.
Edit: And I really like to hear this kind of work going on, Rubisk. Setting up an excellent bit of foundation there. I'm not entirely sure how I can stream more often-I do have work and money to try and earn-but I am willing to do so.

The ctm map making community, and this forum, is not dead, and spreading belief that it is dead will not help. Its like telling someone they are diseased and going to die, it doesn't cure them, it only depresses them and makes them more likely to die. But why is it not dead? well i am a new ctm map maker for starters so i'm proof that new map makers are coming. But more importantly there is all of you posting on this forum. I read one comment saying that the forum is not getting as many posts as it used to, so what? The CTM map maker community is not dieing. I come on the minecraft forum every day and i see that there are new posts from this forum in particular. That is in no way dieing. My server was dieing for a while and we would go a week without having a new post on the forums, so you guys are definitely exaggerating a bit. Oh yea, and even if we did start going a week without new posts, guess what? The server i play on was dieing, but it has recently revived itself. If this forum really is dieing then i'm sure it can too.
On another note, work continues on Danger O' Plenty. I had a epiphany of inspiration and was able to pretty much finish my work around intersection two areas. I will of course still need play testing for everything to determine what loot i should be giving where, but we'll get to that when i feel like all my areas are complete. So refurbishing of intersection 3 and 4 is still on the way. Intersection 3 had a couple areas from infinity chasm, my first map that i gave up on, so these will be a bit annoying to go over and re balance. Also i am not at all happy with how my final area is and there is a possibility that i will be remaking it. I have a gameplay idea where there are beacons laid out over the area and the player must destroy them as they progress to make the area safe. Unfortunatly i am still unsure on how the area will look and what blocks it will be made of.
I hope you guys realize your exaggerating a bit and i heard some guys mention that helping out new mapmakers would help the thread, and although i don't feel like i need much help at the moment, i think that is a great idea. (I am a bit biased though since i would be one of the people receiving help lol.)
PS: Defeating a sandwich, only makes it tastier
I meant that the number of post had decreased dramatically since I came here. It just felt like a lot of people were leaving and it made me sad. (Just look at how much activity there was on this forum when it just started.) I never said this forum was dying.

It would be pretty cool to have a bunch of people get together on a server and put together a map. Heck, if we work hard enough we might get it done in a month.

Well, it's happening! I just realized that I hadn't mentioned anything in here, but people from the community Skype chat have kinda been in on this for a day or two. Anyway, yes, the server is up and running, and people have already begun work on quite a few areas. Here's the organizational spreadsheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1XWUfiDSsisjf6AD1_Ok81v-Ud6Yf44vfsqB7uDf3gxA/edit#gid=0 Add your name to it, and hop on the server. I'll give you op, or if I'm not around someone else who's op'ed will.

I believe that : if you want CTM to shine again, it has to be at a new level now : mainstream. Means more accessible to the AVERAGE PLAYERS, not only you 3-team Youtubers, speedrunners & CTM experts .
Ragecraft might have been the new standard for hard-core players and plebiscited here, but many new-comers like me can only manage the very first areas. My favorite maps are Simulation Protocol 1&2, he did an AWESOME work. There is a lot of space for beginners/easy/medium CTM maps to develop the genre. I think... Just IMHO !
have fun finding people to make those maps
the original intention of CTM maps was to push the limits of normal survival and make it harder, which is what people want to do with the genre - also, CTM was only hinging on the success of Vechs and now that he's purely a youtuber, the genre is dead.
also, who the hell would want to make their map "mainstream"? nobody wants to listen to the rabid 12 year old community of this game

Alrighty then, so as some of you may know, Moldybread's/Czarinabox's map is nearly out of open beta. Now, because of how many changes he did, and how I helped him a fair bit along the way, we've decided that we'll be playtesting the final form of beta together, and stream it (as long as I don't run into technical difficulties). Our streams will probably usually be during Friday's/Saturday's, Morning-ish EST time (because we live very far away from each other, these are basically when we both have the most free time). I'll be posting things concerning when each stream will be and if a stream gets cancelled on my Twitter and possibly also in the CTM Community Group Chat.
As for tomorrow: I have certain IRL things which might make me need to either do a shortish stream or cancel it, but we should probably have our first proper stream during Saturday. I hope to see some of you there!
I have been MIA for at least a year and a half. SOMEONE will have released SOMETHING I want to play. Fire me a list, my many minions of nostalgic goodness.
Priority #1: Go play Ragecraft 2: Insomnia. I think it's been cited by many people as their favorite map, and it's definitely a map that a lot of us are drawing inspiration from. Seriously, it's amazing.
