So yeah, the MCForums is shutting down, and this thread is basically dead.
BUT.
I am still making CTM maps; I have a mini-map I'm hoping to get out before the end of summer and a full-on I want to release before the end of the year (if I can). Be on the lookout for THESIS in the future.
So Darkest Hour isn't dead. It's just on a gigantic haitus.
If you want to find me, I'll be over at the CTM Community Discord, where a lot of CTM mapmakers and enthusiasts hang out. It's also a good place to find new CTM maps as well.
If you want to join, I'll leave a link just below this message.
I'm hoping to release my upcoming maps on sites such as Curse Forge, PlanetMinecraft and the CTM Repository, as I also want to be moving future releases away from MediaFire (and it's thrall of malware-ridden ads).
I'll see you all in hell.

In this Jam, builders were tasked with building a map based off of a song, and taking the lyrics literally when building their map. For my map, I chose the song "The Count of Tuscany" by Dream Theater (See the spoiler):

Hey! I tried out your map. Here's what I think of it(Constructive Criticism):
I like the first dungeon. It's small, simple, to the point, and pretty balanced for the difficulty you set it at.
The second dungeon was a little harder. I do like the custom mobs and the loot, but the actual wool box was hard to find. It's hard to find in all of them
The third dungeon was my first actual challenge, and I liked it! Although it's of course the LAST room I look in where I find the wool box.
Lastly, the fourth dungeon. God.
I still haven't beaten it, and it caused me the first three deaths in the map. I'm going to stop playing this map until it's nerfed. Here's why:
The Burning Souls. I can't even deactivate them and kill them, and they do massive amounts of damage in full heavily enchanted diamond armor. The freeze potions aren't very effective, and the souls are too fast for me to run. Everytime I try to go in/out the nether portal, they kill me before I can even get to the other dimension, or right as I'm there. Please fix it.
Otherwise, I think it's a pretty fun and easy afternoon-challenge! Thanks for posting this map, dude!
Regarding the Burning Souls:
On the final area, you're supposed to go to the sides of the tower (the one after the small mini-fortress, has a fireball atop it) where different structures are and deactivate a pair of Nexuses in each one (they look like portals with lava in them). Once you do that, you can get past the Burning Souls. Did you not read the Instructions book in the tower? Or is it that the spawners are not deactivating after you deactivate both of the Nuxuses?
Anyways, thanks for your thoughts! If too many players find the "Burning Souls" thing confusing, I may just redo the fourth dungeon and make it go linearly.
Yeah. I read the book but I suppose I just got confused.
I may come back to the map sometime. Thanks for creating the map, dude! Is it your first map?
As a matter of fact, this is my first map, and I'm quite happy with the results! Thanks for playing!
Also, as a side note, I updated the map so that instead of having invulnerable monsters guard the portal, I decided to just have the portal appear once the nexuses have been taken care of. So when you do come back, hopefully they won't be a problem again!
Some friends and I (HonneyPlays, Pakratt0013, and PmsProxy) just started LP-ing "The Artisan", and we're having a blast so far! Here's my perspective of our first episode if anyone's interested:

I just watched it, and I enjoyed it very much! I'll be going to check out the other episodes later on.
Good luck completing it! (Btw, have you checked the center chest after putting the wool in?)
We did, actually! But only by random luck. You may want to add some kind of notification so people don't miss out on it?
I'm working on a (small) update for the map, so I'll be able to remedy that. (Also, thanks for letting me know that the Teleporter for Dungeon #3 said #2 behind it instead, I actually cracked up at that)

So we are doing the dungeons in the correct order? Good
Hello everyone! I've got a lot to go over on this first ever Progress Report!
Progress Report #1: Off from the Starting Line
First off, I've released a (fairly big) update for The Artisan - Now Version 1.2!
Some major changes include:
- The teleporter that quickly takes you to the Arctic Storm Citadel so you don't have to climb all that snow has been removed.
- The Knights of the Arctic Storm have discovered diamonds beneath their floating ice island, and have begun mining operations to collect them!
- And since they know that brave adventurers will venture into their territory, they've brought their own Beastmasters to help guard their fortress!
- The "Teleport To" sign for The Arctic Storm behind the painting has been fixed to say "Dungeon #3" instead of "Dungeon #2" (Thanks, CthulhuToo! Also, your team is in the 3rd dungeon, not the second.)
- Some loot within the map has been removed, added and updated, such as the Arctic Armor Set and the Dragonscale Armor.
If you haven't played The Artisan, now is a perfect time to do so!
- - -
Second, my first complete CTM map, Realm of the Ancients, has been a little slow with progress. However, I do have something to show for it! (This was originally posted in the CTM Community Thread, but I decided to show it here also.)
Ladies and gentlemen, I give you: The Blooming Peony Tower:
Other Angles:
I also plan to update the Progress Tab up above at some point so that you may know what I have planned for my map!
- - -
Third and finally, I have some progress on my second mini-CTM, Death's Grasp!
I've completed the redstone to make the timer work in the map (Good golly, is it a lot to work with), and in terms of building, I've completed the Monument Area and the first dungeon, The Graveyard!
All I have left is to add the spawners to it: Loot and "looks" are already taken care of! It's a fairly straightforward dungeon, so it shouldn't be too hard. (Plus, it's called the Graveyard, so don't expect anything pretty or beautiful.)
- - -
Also coming in the future, I have my third mini-CTM coming in... You know what, I think I've said enough for one day. You can wait a while...
I'm now in the #3 dungeon of your map artisan and this is very fun to play. I play in easy because I'm a noob in ctm / suvival but your map is very fun and very balanced in my opinion.
keep up the good job !!
Thanks, glad to see you like it so much!
Quote from StormyLaurajumpReally looking forward to trying the full length maps out; maybe playing them on my channel eventually.
In that case, I can't wait to see your videos!

Edit: I see the spine of the world... (Little sneak peek)
A Warning For Anyone with Version 1.2 or Lower of The Artisan
If you are playing the Artisan on a version that is 1.2 or lower, and have not gotten to the 4th dungeon (Raid on the Infernal Core), there is something you need to know.
Do NOT disable the Barracks Nexus first. You must disable the Ironworks Nexus first. Otherwise, the portal will refuse to open.
This has been fixed in V 1.21, but I'm letting you know for those in an older version of the map.
Edit: For anyone who may have already done this, here is a quick guide on how to fix this issue. (This is for maps that are Version 1.2 and lower. 1.21 has this fixed.)
Guide:
1. Craft 2 redstone torches.
2. Open the game to LAN and enable cheats.
3. Stand next to the ladder in the tower like this:
and write /tp @p ~ ~-15 ~
4. Place a torch next to this command block:
5. And then next to this command block:
6. Once that's done, stand by the glowstone in the center and write /tp @p ~ ~15 ~
My first big CTM map, Realm of the Ancients, has had some progress in the previous weeks.
Two dungeons have been completed: The Slime Pits, a home to the green, squishy slimes of Minecraft:
...and The Fireroot Mines, a cavern where somehow, earth and fire are able to co-exist peacefully...
All that's left for Fireroot Mines is a few spawners, the lighting of a few lamps and a bit of loot.
As a bonus, the teleporter rooms for Yggdrasil, the Monument Area, have been completed, so all that remains is building the intersections and connecting the teleporters between them and the Monument!
-
This time, Death's Grasp's is the map getting done at a snail's pace, with only partial progress in the second dungeon, Silverstone Gulch. So far, most of the structuring has been completed, the wool has been placed and some of the spawner locations have been marked.
-
And now, to reveal my third mini-CTM:
My third mini-CTM map, promptly named The Jester's Court, is to be released on April 1st... so, soon. I'll be showing more information later on...
But for now, here is an image of the first dungeon:
Such fun, isn't it?
-
I'm hoping to be able to post progress reports every other week, so check back in about 14 days.
BUT.
I am still making CTM maps; I have a mini-map I'm hoping to get out before the end of summer and a full-on I want to release before the end of the year (if I can). Be on the lookout for THESIS in the future.
