I have been searching for days for a cool detailed evil dark lord type skin on Skindex and Nova Skin. But all the skins look so poorly detailed and low res compared to the skin packs and vanilla skins. Does anyone know why this is? I also tried the HD skins but when I use them the texture mapping is all messed up.
Also If anyone knows a cool good detailed Dark Lord skin could ya drop me a link please?
From the sounds of it ("skin packs") it sounds like you are using the Bedrock Edition, aka Pocket Edition, XBox One, Windows 10, pretty much everything but Java Edition, which is what the majority of online skin sites are for, and it probably uses a different skin format which is limited to a single resolution (possibly for reasons mentioned in this thread; HD skins require using mods, which are also exclusive to Java, though in the aforementioned thread it says that can use double resolution (128x128 instead of 64x64) skins, at least on the Windows 10 Edition).
I am Have java edition and xbox 360 edition. What I meant was all those skins look distinctively lower detailed when used in Java edition than the skin packs on xbox 360 edition and the vanilla Java alex and steve skins. I finally got hd skins to work using custom skin loader after hours of buggering about with it. All's well that ends well lol

TheMasterCaver's First World - possibly the most caved-out world in Minecraft history - includes world download.
TheMasterCaver's World - my own version of Minecraft largely based on my views of how the game should have evolved since 1.6.4.
Why do I still play in 1.6.4?
