Well, actually my reason for making this program is the fact that we have too many of these. I've tried four or five different skin editing programs (and I'm not an artist, let's get that clear first, I'm a programmer!) and they all have very different feature sets, or are extremely outdated (not that skin editors NEED to be updated to newer versions but they still lack any new features).
I'm hoping to create something that is more universal and works for everybody. Some people like that tool, some people like this tool, but everybody likes THIS tool - know what I mean?
Thanks a ton for the help Paril! The beta that you had me try out fixed the bug perfectly.
Good! As I was writing my "I have no idea what the issue is" post I realized that the _only_ thing that could change the current directory are the Open dialogs - they had RestoreDirectory set to false. *facepalm*
It's strange how it worked on other machines perfectly though...
I have a two suggestions, both of which are quite complicated. The first would be a color-shifter(I forgot the technical name) and the second would be changing the coloring of an entire area. Both would require selection to be implemented first.
The color-shifter would be for changing one color anywhere on the model, or a selected area, using the pallet. Useful for changing a skins clothes or skin color without changing the shading. I understand this would be extremely difficult to code, but I trust your skills.
The second involves selecting an area, or the entire skin, and changing the hue, brightness, ect., also using the current pallet. This would eliminate having to go back over an entire skin to change color schemes, darken shading, etc.
I say using the current pallet because I think using the current one to apply these changes would give it much more depth and control. What's your take on this?

I'm pretty sure that when transparency is put in, you can just go over what you need with 50% transparency and it would change colour.

Opacity is already there (called Alpha).
But no, he's talking about Colorize, which independently modifies the hue/sat/brightness of the pixels. It's completely possible that you'll see this when Selection and the Plugin system is finished.
Paril I Can't Download It I Tryed To Download The .NET Framework But It Says I Need To Turn On Feature Which I Did...Is There Anyway that you can make it not use the .NET framework?..... I'm Desperate The Skin I Make Are Really Stupid And the_Soup a fellow subscriber to me on planetminecraft has got it but they won't tell me what to do about it :3

Wonderful news, yet again. And yes, that is what I was talking about. So how are the creatures and other features coming along? Not pressuring, just small talk mixed with a hint of curiosity. I've had a tad too much to drink you see, and I tend to ramble as most people do. So I figured I'd drop a line and ask. Hopefully I won't go on forever.
Here's hoping.
I recently took a bit of leave from skinning to do some hardcore crafting because I just got an extra 2 gigs of RAM and Minecraft never ran so smooth. While I was playing I noticed my texture pack and got angry with some of the pictures. Now I ask if adding the paintings could be a possible addition to the list of models? I'd love to be able to work on the art with this program. With your increase resolution feature I could make a painting from scratch and have it fit any resolution texture pack. It would be.. amazing.
Ashes out.
Addition: Well, I didn't ramble too much. That's good. I wonder if there is a way to overlay armor over a skin? If there isn't, can there be?
And I have yet to encounter any errors. Not unless I made them happen and knew why at least. Good work.

Facebook is the best way to check our updates. Golem was added in the to-be-released beta.

This is planned for a future release (pass 1.4). This feature will be called "compound models", and will count models which require overlays (such as, for instance, Sheep Fur on top of the Sheep).
I absolutely love this program!
My one problem is that it will randomly freeze and/or just straight shut down on me.
It doesn't happen all the time, but it happens enough to where now I save on a regular basis.
I'm not sure if this is a problem with the program or my computer?
Either way, it's still amazing.
when for mac

Can't give an estimate; we have no Mac compilator.
-P
I think you would need to compile it for mac. :biggrin.gif: And then everyone would have a mac version. :wink.gif:
Depends if you'd be willing to or not.

I NEED THE CLONE AND SELECT TOOLS
Best I can tell you is to keep up to date with the betas.
We thank you for trying it!
