That's very damn strange - can you produce a reproducible example and then give us the steps to do it?

Test 1: Fill the entire front face with red then fill with blue. Passed. Test 2: Accidentally filled in every other space with blue. Passed. Test 3: Fill in whole blue body with green. Passed. Test 4: Start with new skin and fill completely with green. Passed. Test 5: Start with new skin and fill with red. (This is what I used when it crashed both times before.) Passed. Test 6: Restart program and fill in new skin with red. Passed.
Ok this is weird. I know it crashed on me twice in a row but now it's working fine. Both times it crashed was when I tried to fill in the whole skin at once. I'm not quite sure why it's working fine now with the same conditions. o_o;
Not sure if that helped or not but there you go. I'll record each time it does crash for me though if you'd like.

Yeah, obviously there's some sort of condition that has to be met for the paint bucket to crash, I can't see anything by quickly scanning the code...
High resolution skins are for texture packs and mob support. It was asked as a feature, so we included it. It will especially be helpful when block support is implemented.

I'd like to start by saying this is the best skinning program I've found. I really enjoy using it and you and your team have done an amazing job. Seeing the "Fetch from Minecraft.net" tool made my think, what if you could see a catalog like thing for the skins that have been uploaded. Yeah I realize many sites are like that but It would be cool if you could just search through and pull a skin you just found directly into editing within the same program. I don't know if that's possible but I'd love to see it. Thanks again for the amazing program. I can't wait for the full blown texture back making version.

If anything is possible... is it possible for something to be impossible?

We have a skin repository listed as one of the todo features, we're just not sure exactly how we would go about that just yet (where to store it server-wise, etc).

Sounds great. Sorry I must have missed that.

Well, the hope was that I could come up with something that would surpass my predecessors - I find that having to switch between tools is very inefficient, so that was the idea behind MCSkin3D.
Hey guys, just a quick remark: the inverted chin bug STILL hasn't been fixed, even as of 1.0.1 weekly PR! All skins are affected by this, and no program is willing to change over due to the volume of skins that exist pre-1.9 that don't have this issue.
Because of the way Twitter sucks, I would ask that anybody that sees this that uses Twitter either retweet my tweet to Jeb (find it at http://twitter.com/Paril101) or contact Notch/Jeb any other way and get them to notice this bug. It's incredibly important that they get this fixed ASAP!
It's an impressive program. I'm especially fond of the filing system. I enjoy the ability to draw directly on the 3D image or the 2D (or both at the same time) according to my preference.
There is nothing I dislike about it thus far. Keep up the good work!
I have a quick question regarding the increase/decrease resolution for the skins. It seems possible to create high detailed skins and such, however when it comes time to actually USE said skins, they wont upload as the sprite sheet is now to large in dimensions. It seems a waste to stare at pretty and better detailed skins in the MCSkin3D so is there a mod to use them or a way around?

Well, you can use the HD skins without any mods... but you'll be the only one who can see i
Follow this directory: C:\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\bin\minecraft.jar\mob
See the "Char.png"? Replace that with the skin you want, but be sure to rename your skin "Char.png"!
EDIT: I prefer not to use HD Skins, as they are not visible to anyone not using said skin.
