i'm not sure if anyone already mentioned it but, could you make it compatible with blocks for making texture packs/mods also? :Dlike re-texturing blocks and items! :Dbtw it's great!i love the program!
Yes, you're the 120th person to mention it :smile.gif:
Not sure if this has been suggested before, but I'm really picky when it comes to 3D applications and love to see anti-alias options. Could you maybe add that? Thanks!
I could allow multi sampling if you wish it to be included.
Wow. This is really great. I haven't made a new skin in a while because I was annoyed with the 2D editing, but this is so much easier. Thanks!THIS ONE HAS A GREAT IDEA!
Thanks! And yes, he does, but so did the 100 people before him :tongue.gif:
Getting tired of having to repeat my answer though :sad.gif: people need to read the FAQs and todo list.
Not sure if this is just me, but it seems in v1.2 that the bottom of the head is shown back-to-front on the 3D model (so when you see the skin in Minecraft the bottom of the head is the wrong way round).
Apart from that bug, this is a very useful tool and I congratulate you!
Is it inverted? I didn't check honestly, but you may be right, just a sec...
EDIT: I just painted a dot on the front-bottom of the head, and it matched up in-game. Could you show me screenshots to what you're saying?
Make sure to put a little asterisk next to "Mac users: Run parallels"
Because not all mac users have a full copy of windows to use parallels with. We also hate pirating.
Miner's need cool shoes is also a great alternative, as it shows you the 3D-model while editing the 2D skin (and it's rotatable.)
I'm working on the 3d-in-2d view, it's just hard to find a good place to do it.
Don't generalize - I know a lot of Mac users who pirate on a daily basis. However, yes, you are right; I did not realize it was paid, until I thought about it and someone told me it was :tongue.gif:
We're working on a Mono port, so that people don't have to pay for it. Besides, I wasn't telling them to run it, I just wanted to know if anyone had any experience with it and if it worked.
Python is faster than .NET, Java and XNA can ever be. Well, so is C++ >_>
A lot of linux complainers will fly into here with mono experience being bad.
Java and XNA do suck. However, Python vs .NET? .NET is natively compiled on run, so it's pretty much just as good as C++, the only difference being .NET doesn't support certain x86/x64 processor extensions, such as SSE, which really bog it down when you're trying to do 3d math.
There was a huge petition to get .NET 4.0 to include support for it, but alas it did not make it.
The reason I use .NET is because of rapid application development. It would of taken me billions of weeks more time to develop the calibre program that it is right now in any other language or framework.
As for Mono on Linux: they have Wine, they don't need to worry about it. However, for Mac users, Mono is the only choice at this point.
Hey! This looks awesome and I was thinking about it... why not try to make something that you could import your texture pack stuff (like the terrain and the mobs., etc.) And then also be able to edit them in this kind of style so you could kind of see what it would look like! That would be amazing. Dunno how do-able it would be but you never know. :tongue.gif:

This is the best skineditor I ever have tried! It is sooooo easy to use! With this program i can actually make a skin that looks like something.
I am looking foward to see what updates you are going to make, I think this will be the NO.1 used skineditor, but you still got a long way to go before that will happen.
You should make it so when you have the mac version almost ready, release a beta or something like that. That way you can fine bugs with out releasing a buggy final version. :biggrin.gif:
I gotta say, I thoroughly enjoy this. I usually have allot of skins that I like to juggle around with (except for on my laptop, which is what I'm on right now) and this REALLY helps me out. Plus, I've always liked making my own skins. So, for me, its a win win.

We will. I usually only deal with betas/alpha internally with testers, and the finals get released to the public, but it's impossible to avoid all bugs!

Just you wait for 1.3: you'll love what I came up with for skin management :smile.gif:

It's sorta a way of saying "By Paril" -P = Paril
Yep! I picked it up after a long time of signing with "-Paril", eventually I just shortened it to P.
-"That guy who made MCSkin3D"
Ooooooohhhhhhh i thought it was like a smiley or something :biggrin.gif:
i feel sooooo stupid right now
You aren't the first to ask, don't worry :smile.gif:
It's not as bad as constantly mispronouncing my name as "pearl".
Also, SoulThief: Slenderman!

EDIT: Yes, Slenderman are beast.
