The first time I opened the application, I created a new folder and started a new texture in it. Then I closed the application because it kept popping up with an error message. Then I reopened it. Now it doesn't show that file or texture in the application. It still shows all the default ones, though. Also, the file still exists in the folder, it just won't show in the app.
EDIT: Never mind, it seems to be working now. I'm not sure what the issue was the first time, for some reason it put my texture in the wrong folder but I just moved it manually outside the app and now it seems to be working
You're likely have the wrong model selected for your player skin; as you may know, there's three models to choose from. The pre-1.8 Human model only allows you to edit the head, head-armor, body, the right arm, and the right leg. The left arm and leg are reflected from their respective right side body parts. You might have this model selected.
There's the Human (1.8) model which is similar, but it adds a 32x64 pixel area (making the whole texture 64x64 pixels) under the original player skin format. This model adds a visual armor layer to all parts of the body and the ability to edit the left arm and leg independently, unlike the original Human skin format.
Finally there's the Alex Human (1.8) which is near identical to the Human (1.8) except that it makes arms 3 pixels wide instead of the original 4 pixel width. This skin model is usually for skin makers who want to make slimmer looking skins.
I hope I helped you with your issue, and I hope you continue having fun making skins!
whenever i go to try and set the golem skin, for some reason the iron golem doesn't align right, i just wanted to let you know. the skin just looks very weird when it doesn't load.
-Also, when I start it up, the place where I'm supposed to edit the skin, is just a blue background
-I tried installing .NET Framework 4, but when I went and launched the installer, it said that my pc already had .Net framework, so I'm not sure what's up with that.
-I've tried to re-extract the files into the same folder, didn't solve the problem.
Paril, I installed the update over the previous version as I did with the versions prior and this time the 3d previewer shows nothing but the blue background; no ground, no skins, no orientation box. I've re-downloaded it twice hoping that might do anything but alas no change. Any suggestions?
Im getting the error below. I tried "Run as Admin" and Also tried to run in comptible mode. not working. If i have to run an old version where can I download? Please help, My sister needs this program

You can probably set this up domain side, it's not linked properly.

Whenever I open MCSkin3D it shows blank, all of the brushes, skins, models, etc. files are empty. It used to work fine on my old laptop, but ever since I got this new computer it doesn't work. I can send a screenshot, it's just pretty self-explanatory. I am running Windows 10.

The URL thingie failed, can you try to fix it so we don't have to copy and paste?

Never mind i found out how to fix it
I'd like to report that 360 Security and Avast seem to think that MCSkin3D.exe is a trojan.
what is the link?
It probably isn't a virus just a false flag. Use AVG or eset to scan it if you are concerned.
If your a mod maker PLZ consider these mod ideas here! LINK

Is there a reason it won't stop asking me to update every time I load the program?
I already updated it and am on the current version that the download link is for.
The link doesn't work.
You need to have www.alteredsoftworks.com. Without the www. the links fail.
You can probably set this up domain side, it's not linked properly.
