Thank you for making this program, I like it a lot its very useful, and i dont mean to be bashing but i like it better then the other one on here because the burn tool for shadding is so much better.
This is the absolute best skinning program I have ever had the luxury of using. I work as Staff for a gaming channel (Im a forum mod for them) and the mods decided to all make a single channel Mod MC skin. I showed it to an extremely talented skin maker and he stated that he would use this for all his creations. We absolutely love this program and we cant wait to see what the future holds for it.
Awesome! Thanks so much Paril! This is very much appreciated! I'm going to try it out right now!

Edit: Just tested it, building several skins and I'm so far loving it! Could use a horizontal and vertical flip as well as a copy and paste (though for now the clone does the trick except for the flipping) but it's totally baddass! Thanks again, Paril!
Make sure you're in "camera" mode (the eyeball on the toolbar), left click & drag in the 3D view to rotate, right click & drag to zoom. Same goes for flat view, left click & drag does panning, right click & drag does zoom.
If it still doesn't work, then I don't know....

To tell them how to live is to prevent them living.
Still hoping to see a copy/paste and flip horizontal/vertical options. It'd be easier for copying a leg/arm over, rather than having to either redraw it for the other one, or open a different program just to do it.
Also, is there any way using this new version, to like, 'convert' a skin to 1.8 format? I notice if I open a skin that's the old image size, it won't let me add any of the new things to it, meaning it probably doesn't convert it to the right size automatically. If not, I'll have to manually change the image size on all of the skins I have currently, which..is quite a lot. Maybe a simple "convert to 1.8" button, that changes the image from 64x32 to 64x64, along with automatically copying the arm/leg over to the other arm/leg.
Edit: It would seem I can't use the "Upload Skin" function. It tells me I can't upload high resolution skins to my Minecraft profile. The skin I'm trying to upload is just a normal resolution skin, designed for 1.8, so it's a 64x64 image.
Is there perhaps an option to convert existing custom 1.7 skins to the new 1.8 format?
So like increasing the grid size and copying (plus orienting) in the new leg and arm, while leaving the second layer as is (or empty)
(1.7 skin already has a hat layer, I see)
I have a bunch of custom 1.7 skins I would like to update for myself to the new 1.8 format, before it's being released.
But doing it manually in paint(.net) feels like a bit of too much work for it.
And I'm not a pro skinner. :/
I'm not asking you to rush things.
I can wait.
It's not like 1.8 will be out tomorrow or something like that.
Nice update, but I see there's still no zombie villager or zombie pigman model.
And it also doesn't understand a high res skin when transferring over to the new format, but I don't suppose there's a lot of those around, since you can't upload them.
And even though I edited my 1.7 skin that is of valid resolution, to 1.8 format, when I try to upload it says the resolution is too high.

This is because the old skins used a 63x32 format, the new ones use 64x64 format.

I know that, and it translates a normal resolution skin just fine, but a 2x or 4x skin does not get translated. This is probably not a big deal since higher resolution skins can't be used online and most people want to upload their skins. But if someone was making a high resolution skin for a custom map texture pack to be used in offline mode, it will get messed up if translated in the program.

Cool. Maybe you should try coding yourself, then maybe you'd see how much hard work Paril has put into this. maybe as a result, you wouldn't be complaining about annoyances. It'll be done in a few weeks, and there's nothing you can do to speed it up, so be patient. If you have any more statements, please, feel free to redirect them to your brain.
I dont know how to fricken code, im only in 8th grade. Leave me alone.

Updating main post, please wait while I fix things.
The link on the main page broke.

Really, I can't thank you enough, thanks for the work you put in to make this program
for everyone to use, It's really nice of you

EDIT: The chicken model is still wrong, though, and there's no horse or bat model...

I'm pretty sure this update was just a really quick one to get 1.8 skins working. I don't think it was intended as a huge fully featured update.
