Many aren't happy about changing over from a well-known interface to the Ribbon. If the ribbon is adopted early-on, there will be no issues.

I was thinking you know in Gimp and in Photoshop there are layers. You should put that feature in and a section of tools that would help you with editing the layers like Gimp and Photoshop do.
That would be grand that would make this editor a most forwarding to being a Universal Minecraft Skin Editor.

Layers and tools related to it (Selection, Move, etc) are planned for future updates. Whether or not they'll make it into 1.4 is unknown at the moment.
Unofficially, capes can be worn by any player through a variety of methods.There are mods that allow custom capes that people who have the mod can see, and there are other options I don't endorse due to legality conflicts
