Making these skins aren't hard, it takes a mere touch of brainpower and determination to make good ones. Why don't people just play around with the skins before they start calling more decent players pricks. *Cough* Cyann *Cough*
i need help, ive seen people walk around with things such as glasses headphones dogears and such, but they are not drawn onto the character, there more or less floating in front of the head :|
what do i have to do to add something like that to a skin?
edit: nvm, i think i'll just use skin edit to make the hats then use
paint.net to clean them up
thanks swedman :biggrin.gif:
i dont know why so many people are having so much trouble. I just bought this game a little over an hour ago, and i made this: http://www.minecraft.net/skin/skin.jsp?user=Phiilicks
in maybe 15-30 minutes without prior knowledge of the forums or how skins worked. i looked at the preference page character using the reference skin as a guide. It is a very crude rendition of Finn from Adventure Time, but it works for me.
I know that this is going to seem a little off topic, but I'm new, and don't see how it is that I'm supposed to use the skins I downloaded in game. I downloaded three from skins.tkte and I just don't know what to do next.
Can someone post the template without the text? I want to put the text on manually in a separate layer so it will be easier.
Someone already posted it on page 1.
And to all those flaming newcomers (you know who you are) - STOP. You don't know what age or proficiency some of these people are, so why not just be helpful?
I don't use paint for skins I use gimp I find it's a lot easier to get really good details gradients etc. so anyways if anyone is interested I can make a gimp file (xcf) with multiple layers for each body part to help simplify things, but I'm not gonna bother if no one is interested. Lol I think I'm the only one who uses gimp anyways lol.
I updated my reference skin to take into account the extra layer and the mirroring of arms and legs:
In this one, you have to cut off the bottom before you can use it! Oh nooo! I figured that was simplest.
Though now that I think of it, if the bottom is being cut off anyway, I could put a WORDY MEGAGUIDE under there instead. Would anyone be interested in that?
This reference is superb! Much thanks, and would recommend this to anyone else as well.
This skin helper is very good and very helpful for me. I am 100% agree with your statement about it. But I want more information or any link of tutorial of complete information.
I also like to design skin according to my choice...i have tried many times but i always get failed ...please can anyone educate me step my step that how to create their own skin so that i have not to face any problem.thanks.
You can't use paint.

so, this doesn't make any sense at all to someone who doesn't already know how to do it.
How do you make the second layer work?
what do i have to do to add something like that to a skin?
