At different times I've considered setting up the server so it'd be split into a development section, and a public section, though I'm not great with that sort of thing and it never really felt like something worth investing time in. This is currently the main announcements page. I have this annoying issue where I'm afraid of things being incomplete in an update, so I don't update until I feel it's ready. But Minecraft updates significantly faster than we can, so it's perpetually unready. I need to just put the pack out here again so people can enjoy it, but the thought of people being disappointed in how much is still not done gives me this awful knot in my chest. :/

It was mostly just saying that whether it's done by new years depends on team activity, that I'm going through a rough spot, and that I finished a ravager texture recently. I also posted the list of changes needed for the update, with some removed due to spoilers.
-Fix broken Iron Golem textures.
-Update .lang file.
-Update Attributions file.
-Update font to include foreign letters
-Add new music tracks
Figured I should start being more open about progress. Here's a little progress to show. Amethyst as black and white clusters of Calcite. You should also be able to spot some new stuff in the background of one of the images.

Hey everyone! Dropping off some new images in the attachments to look over. Hope you all enjoy! I'm making quick progress on the remaining tasks, but there's a few things I can't make myself. If you think you can make any of the following- let me know!
-Old Bricks: Would look similar to the following, but, of course, in block form. Should definitely have an aged appearance, with bricks of different colors being present.
-Rusting Engine: You could get very creative with this. It would preferably resemble a car engine, but be flexible enough to fit other kinds of vehicles. It doesn't have to make perfect sense mechanically- just enough to be passable.
Scrap Heap: Would be differentiated from the engine through clearly being nothing but junk, with nothing even resembling a state of being operational. A variant of this with moss and plants growing from it is also needed for the update, however, you would not be forced to make both, of course.
Oil Drum: A rusting metal barrel, with the remains of blue paint being visible. The image is very close to what I have imagined.
Cement Bags: A two-tall stack of cement bags, with a separate logo-bearing texture for the top and bottom.
Anything that's quality enough to fit into the pack will likely make it into the upcoming update, with your chosen name going permanently into the Attributions! Now normally, if I were to do something like this, I would consider it a contest of sorts and attach a bigger reward to it like a copy of Minecraft or some cash. However, I'm doing very poorly right now regarding income, so this unfortunately isn't possible at the moment. If you have an idea for how I could potentially reward those participating, let me know!
In addition, if you have an idea for a new block you'd like to see, post it! We currently have several openings in the dyed blocks (blocks are not required to be colorful) and don't have many ideas for what could fill them.
This pack has been one of my absolute favourites, and I've been following it for ages now (Almost ten years since finding Santiago's original, wow).
I wanted to thank you for your dedication in continuing it's development, and try giving back a little with my attempt at the barrel. It's just the side right now, I wasn't sure whether you'd prefer a round or square top so I left it for now
Wow, that's really really good! I had sort of pictured a round top, like a circle within the square confines of the texture. Assuming you allow us to use this, what name would you like us to use to credit you?
Despite all my efforts, I'm really just not that good at this art style. Almost all of my block textures were made by splicing together existing textures in creative ways, and changing the brightness/ saturation/ contrast. A lot of my contributions have just been keeping things organized and trying to motivate people, which, admittedly, I'm also not good at. Honestly I feel like I'm a bad pick to be in charge, but also I'm pretty much the only one stubborn enough to not drop the whole thing... so it works out? I guess??
When should we expect the next update to come out? Sorry I am not trying to rush or anything, I am just very hyped because this is my favorite texture pack of all time. I'm not expecting this to automatically be up to date with 1.19 or anything, I'm just very excited for the changes to come.
And one with darker corners to better highlight the circular end of the drum.
Feel free to use whichever you prefer. Or both! As for credit, just PaperAirship is fine.
I have some trouble with artstyle myself since I'm essentially a beginner, and Santiago was doing it professionally, but we can only get better from here. I'd like to contribute more eventually, but I can't say it will be with any regularity. Probably another request, one of those above or new ones if you make another post (Or just something that I want and feel is missing haha)

I'm aiming for updating by New Years, but that could be off massively. It's impossible to tell really. Everyone must understand that since everyone on the team is a volunteer, I hold very little sway over what actually gets worked on by others. I can request stuff, sure, but that doesn't mean that they'll do it or even reply. We all have lives outside of this of course and in reality, we only have three active people who can make textures, including me and one person who is in school full-time. The last person is the lead texture artist, but he's working on his own version of the pack to release and so doesn't usually take on my requests. When he does post textures he posts many of them, but because our packs are slightly different I often can't really use most of the textures he makes. I often snag a few anyway, but they aren't necessarily what I was looking for or needing.
I did it again. Accidentally overwrote my comment... Paper, I really love your work, and you're welcome to join the Discord if you think you'll be able to at least occasionally contribute. I personally prefer the barrel with the lighter rim, but they're both good. (Also your images are broken for me, but the attachments work.)
It would take some file editing and reorganizing, I'd think. We had a person I invited who was planning to set up different versions of the pack, but they never actually accepted the link, and haven't visited this site in a long time. I hope they're okay..

Recently i started playing new versions and one block caught my attention. I wanted to ask you about your plans on moss. I mean, i think it's very interesting question on this point. Are you going to just make a better texture or turn it into fleshy rot-like biomass that consumes your world like a decease?
While I do like the idea of meat-moss, moss already has a texture. It's mostly just an improved version of vanilla. There IS Warped Nylium though, which is a growth of flesh that spreads across the Subterranean Caverns, with things like teeth plants and rotting flesh growths rising out of it.

Odd that the images aren't working for you. I tried re-adding them, so maybe that will fix it.

Hi, there isn't really a pack version for 1.12.
I used a mix of 1.7 and 1.14 for my 1.12 game, but that's a rather sloppy method to get it to work.
I could look into converting the pack down to 1.12 (if I don't forget) with all the textures as they are right now.
What like you activated 1.7 and 1.14 at the same time? Or did you have to do some file editing?
