I'd like to present an early work in progress modification to one of my favorite texture packs, Dokucraft Dark. I'm working on it because I think Dokucraft needs more than one texturefor every block and overall better connected textures to make it feel more natural.
I also thought about parallax maps to use in shaders, but that idea is abandoned for now. The other stuff happens right now, and it looks great.
Some impressions:
Currently enhanced:
Stone (2 variations, needs some improvement tho)
Cobblestone (3 variations, needs some improvement too)
Stone bricks (6 variations (working on different ctm supports for a few days now bc I realised a lot of problems with my previous approach))
Bricks (4x4 tiles repeating pattern
Purpur block (3 variations)
Purpur pillar (3 variations for each vertical method tile)
Dirt (2 variations)
Gravel (2 variations)
Mycelium (2 variations)
Grass (3 variations)
plus a neat grass overlay!!! :))
Sand (2 variations, better ones to come)
Bookshelf (better ctm support, even better to come)
Oak wood planks (5 variations)
Mushroom stems (2 variations)
Red mushroom block outside (3 variations)
Glowstone (2 variations)
Nether bricks (3 variations, don't like it as yet tho)
Iron ore, gold ore, lapis lazuli ore (4 variations each(that were in Light already, just ported them to Dark))
Some more pics for comparison:
To do:
Ehm, a lot, I think.
You may now have an idea of what I want to do...
I don't want to rip off the feel of Dokucraft, just adapt the pack to the opportunities Minecraft and mods like Optifine offer nowadays.
Ehm, well, there's currently no download, but the Doku maintainers said they'll maybe make an official release for this if it gets better/presentable :)))
It's a long way until there, so if anybody is interested, please be patient. If you want to help me by providing textures or advice or you want to work with me on this together, please tell me (write a message, join the Dokucraft Discord in any case - link is on the Dokucraft website).
Thank you for reading, will update this post every now and then.
In the Dokustash there are a lot of textures, but that you already know =P
It took a while til I found out about the stash, but yeah, I know it and
I already have some ideas how I could make use of some textures in the
future ^^
You may know that there's a biome feature of ctm - certain textures will
be applied in different biomes. There's also a height-feature, so
certain blocks look different deep underground for example. I thought of
decayed , cobwebbed bookshelfes in underground libraries, ancient
scrolls instead of books in the vast of the desert or overgrown and
rotten bookshelves in the jungle... Or mystical looking black books
(black magic stuff) in swamps. idk, there are endless possibilities with
features like this
Sorry for the late reply btw, I was busy getting through the winter.
