currently working on a minecraft texture pack, I aim to have it done by 2018 with every block texture done.
currently, I have the wool textures, stone textures, gravel textures and brick textures completed (as well as some experimental wood textures).
Here are some previews in game with the chroma shader pack, however it works with the following shaderpacks that support normal and specular mapping:
trillitons edit V6X
as always, the pack works without shaders, but shaders significantly increases the effect
I am currently working on making textures such as the wool and wood textures tile better, but I am kind of curious as to any ideas on how I can go about implementing ore blocks. Any help such as texture donations, ideas for complected blocks ect would be highly appreciated.
feedback on how its looking so far would also be nice.
download is not currently included however I will release some beta versions relatively soon.
Grass doesn't look realistic. The stone texture tiling is too noticeable. Don't use shaders for texture screenshots unless it's for bump map effects. Even the ugliest texture out there, will look good with shaders.
Besides making realistic texture pack is the easist thing anyone could do in just 1-2 days. There are many seamless texture generator out there, and finding free resources on Google image is not hard.
There are way way too many realistic texture pack out there already! Believe me you're just gonna waste your time.
But since you are asking for ideas, oh well, here is my idea on what a really realistic texture pack should really look like:
