Hello everyone. Here is how it works. You send a texture, model, or sound along with where it goes and it will go into a custom resource pack where all the textures, models, and sounds that others have sent will be. I will add the file names that have currently been taken below along with your username(if you want to be called by something else then give a name with the file). If you are having trouble with sending the file, then send it to my email at [email protected] Once we get enough of the pack done then I will post the resource pack. I will post a video on my channel while using the texture pack so if you post a texture then you might see it in the video. You dont have to be an artist to contribute. You can just recolor a texture like you would in a coloring book. I have contributed few textures already and will contribute more as time goes on. I encourage you to follow the style of the textures I contributed.
NO INAPPROPRIATE FILES. IF YOU SEND EVEN ONE THEN THE OTHERS YOU SEND WONT BE USED.
TROLLS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED
NEW NAMES GIVEN MUST NOT BE INAPPROPRIATE
NEW APPROPRIATE NAME MUST BE GIVEN IF THE OLD ONE IS DEEMED INAPPROPRIATE
So for starters, let's see the texture's that YOU are contributing to this project. After all, the rest of us will need to match your style or the pack will just be a mess. If you want this to happen, you're going to have to lead the charge!
Oh, and I strongly suggest raising the limit. Assuming that anyone will contribute at all, there are around 800 textures in vanilla alone. I doubt there are anywhere near 80 active pack artists in this community much less ones that are willing to contribute to a project like this when they have their own packs to work on. Nothing personal, but this doesn't seem well thought out.
Alright. Will do. thanks for the info. And I expected the pack to be a jumbled mess anyways lol.
One problem: YOU didn't make those texture. Mojang did. You just recolored them a little bit.
Mojang's One Big Rule has always been: "Do not redistribute anything we have made." Under Derivative Works law, recoloring someone else's work in a rote way does NOT make it a unique work and thus ownership stays with Mojang.
It's frankly a big galling to say this is a "community" pack when you start out by stealing textures from the company that got this community going. Particularly since those are all early textures, so you're ripping off Notch himself. Regardless of what you think of the man or the company he started, that's not a very nice thing to do.
When YOU have actually made something that didn't require you stealing from someone else let me know. Until then, this is going to be a big, huge, gigantic NOPE for anyone who cares even a little about originality and artistic integrity.
I guess I should scrap the whole thing. There are way too many mistakes. I would say I am not taking credit for any of the work but I actually am by putting my name right next to the file I edited. My hope was that people can just put whatever they wanted into one texture pack. It would be a hodgepodge of random stuff but since it is causing too many issues and wasn't well thought out, I will scrap it. I am not much of an artist so I like to do simple stuff like recoloring textures to fit my desire and I wanted people who wanted to do whatever they wanted, whether they were good or not. But it is not like I am selling this texture pack and since it is something part of the game, then I don't think Mojang will care. Thanks for all the info!
