Ironically, I'm actually working on the soundtracks right now instead of the textures.
I had OCD over the soundtracks, so im having a headache. So tell me if there are any music you guys likes and fits.
By the way I also needs alot of ambient music for background music.....alot....
I highly recommend listening to all of Elegy Music's stuff. They're great, and there's a lot of stuff that fits the pack. I recommend "Black Desert Sand" for the Ender Dragon fight, "Nuclear Wasteland Ambiance" to play in the Nether, and "Indian Summer Leafes" for the Overworld, and of course "Evolution" for a Creative mode track.
Well the update is cool because there's a lightswitch, but they'll probably release it when everything that needs to be done is done. If they're updating, I don't think the dev team would just leave the acacia and dark oak items unfinished, texturing for 32x32 is hard as well, so give it time.
Speaking of the texture pack, because this whole thread is about it. Dony, have you found my very wanted music yet?
I will probably release a small update that fixes a couple issues. It''l also probably include all the misc. work I've done, such as the light switch and some other random features ;P
It won't be much just random small additions. But it'll probably be next month, when I feel it's worth an update.
Maybe then we can actually make a new thread so that our 'update' doesn't get buried like the last one xD
We are still debating on what design the wood should have, more specifically the dark oak wood ( I am not sure what I want it to be). I don't think trapped chests will be in.
I was working on the iron trapdoor (I think was was going to make it into a manhole cover) I can finish it up and get it into the pack.
The door need a bit more work. But I can toss them in, just so you have 'em. They will be changed though as some are a bit messy.
Dark Oak isn't exactly a real wood type, or maybe it is. But I suggest you make it redwood, redwood may be be tall but it being dark oak will fit well.
As the idea guy of the pack, I feel I should step in here.
We're meaning to make the current chest the trapped chest, so that we can have a wooden 'civilian chest'. The textures for this are already done. In fact, they're somewhere on this forum, though I'm not sure what page.
AmeriMania is sorta right about the dark oak thing... I wanted Dark Oak to be a better version of Oak. Its door will be the door we already have, but fixed. I made a sketch of each door, so here.
Birch is more reinforced, so I wanted a barricaded door.
Spruce is a bunch of planks nailed into an improv door... Dony already posted the WIP texture on here.
We were debating the Jungle Door, but as the planks are whitewashed, I thought it should have a 'decaying White neighborhood' feel to it. I was thinking a solid color painted door, maybe green?
Acacia will be the wasteland material, with dirty, rotten planks. The door will be something special.
Dark Oak, as the rarest wood, will be nicer than the others. We haven't decided on a specific texture yet, because I can't think of anything that'll work for both walls and floors. Now that I'm typing about it, I'm picturing some old antique paneling, that doubles as tiles for the floor. Previously, I wanted something like African Wood, but that just seems stupid now.

Rude. Our **** is very much together, if you're willing to pull your head out to look at it. We're compiling ideas and textures on another forum. The only thing I can do is continually post good ideas and motivate Gamin- if he quits the pack's still screwed. Dony is a capable texturer, but he lives in Africa- we don't hear from him every day. I can draw, but not in this style. So if things seem slow, that's because our team consists of three texturers who aren't around all the time, because they have lives, and a fan obsessed with the pack to the point of bossing around everyone else- me. I want an updated pack too, okay? I've built an entire city in it! I can't do everything though, you know?
I didn't read it as being rude. It has been a while since we had an update. I saw it has sort of a reminder.
And just to reaffirm, I'll be making a new TEiEN thread so that I can directly edit the primary post with downloads and images. The new thread will also include a 'small' update that sort just brings out the pack to 1.9 (but not finished - it's still like 1.5 or something because of passive mobs)
Most of the additions will be random features that I was testing such as random vanilla blocks and optifine support with ctm (though only a few blocks support it at the moment). I also practiced with some 3d models and made the switches. Both are mostly done but I'm having some issues with them that I need to fix.
When I it get closer to the update I'll see what I actually added. - such as fixed lillypads and I am working on fixing the color of the corn too.
Anyway here's a couple images of random blocks for 1. 9. . . .
Random Bricks in vanilla. I will probably make 1-2 bricks significantly darker to provide even more variations.
Also I sort of like this But I don't know if I want to officially include this. I have a different idea for foliage ;P
If I do include it I'll probably tone down the weight of the flower block
I forgot to mention I will probably change the road texture to something more realistic and along the lines of . . . Hopefully I can get it in next month. It'll take advantage of ctm, so ti'll require optifine to work. What are your opinions on these images. . . . . and I feel like a monthly update cycle is within reason ;P so that's something to look forward too. I just have to figure out some dates now. maybe the last week of every month - and around october it'll probably slow down so that'll be like a break month or something.
By the map, do you mean my map? My map is just a repaired version of Letters From a Dead Earth... which is going to be out of date because the update will screw up a few things. XD

Also while reading Dah's comment I think jungle doors should be a wood frame with cloth as protection for wind, what do you guys think?

I wouldn't go with Myuu. I love his music. Maybe use his ambiance but his music wasn't taken very well last time I used it.
I'm still watching how this pack turns out. I can't wait for a new update.
