First of all, to clarify, by "heavy WIP" I mean "HEAVY WIP" As in, I only have a few basic aspects done. If you were looking for a complete resource pack, you can not find it here (you probably shouldn't be in the WIP resource pack section if you wanted one, anyway)
Anyway, without further ado, allow me to introduce my [heavy WIP] resource pack, Byte³! My main goal for this pack is to create a simple, easy-on-the-eyes pack but not "simple" to the point of just being single-shade laziness. Another key emphasis is highly saturated, varied, fantasy-like colors. (Some of these are very different from the original colors, and will often not fit with structures designed with the original colors in mind) I've created a few textures and I'm really unsure if they'd work out or not, so please leave a comment saying what you like/dislike about it, and what I should fix/change.
Textures:
All the logs and planks from left to right: Oak, Birch, Spruce, Jungle, Dark Oak, and Acacia
Oak leaves (The only finished leaves), grass, dirt, and the finished flowers.
And here we have the tools. They have handles of varying colors, and get more fancy with each tier upgrade.
And last but not least, the HUD. (And some materials) I've replaced most of the icons with bars (I'll probably add more interesting variation to them later) and as you can probably tell, I haven't done the EXP bar yet.
Thanks to MightyPork and their Resource Pack Workbench for helping me quickly and efficiently manage the pack.
(Oh, and lastly, if you didn't notice, this is my first ever post on these forums. I tried to gather as much forum knowledge as I could before posting, but If I did something wrong or screwed something horribly up then make sure to tell me so I can fix it right away! Thanks!)
Really good so far! I might make the oak planks a little darker though; I see this with a lot of new texture packs, the oak planks are sort of yellow-ish and gold-ish.
It's a good start! Might I recommend trying to not use black outlines on the tools? A darker color of the main material would look nicer and fit in better.
I'd also like to see something more done with the dirt, it look a bit boring in detailed compared to say the trees.
Also for the jungle trees, perhaps more of a brown/green instead of such a bright green? I would also recommend lowering the contrast a bit on it all.
Another update, this time with more common blocks, such as leaves and flowers.
I'll also look into decreasing saturation/tweaking colors (as requested); hopefully I'll be able to do so without hurting the style I'm using (Or maybe I should just find a better style, I don't know) Anyway, have a picture
The leaves are a WIP, but are in the current download. Tell me what you think!
Well, I'm sorry for the huge delay (I may or may not have forgotten this pack existed), but I'm back again! (Who knows for how long, though)
Anyway...
I was a bit reluctant to, but I changed the item' outlines from pure black, and I have to say, I love the result!
Also, I changed the flowers so the contrast between shades isn't so striking, and, in the top left corner, you can see some of the grass. I'm... really not happy with the result. It's basically green spikes, and it doesn't look good. I'll look into changing them.
Also, I had this done before, but biomes have very clear and defined colors. The forest (left) has bright green, the plains (middle) has a lime-ish color, and the savanna (right) has a peanut butter-y gold color to it. However, the color map I used was for an earlier version, so some new biomes (like the mega taiga) have pure black grass in some parts. I'll work towards cleaning that up, too.
I also toned down the oak planks' color (does it have too little contrast now?)
So... I'm sort of stuck on the stone texture. I have no idea how to make it smooth, and yet patterned like dirt, planks, etc. Whenever I try to make it, it ends up looking like a really, REALLY ugly cobblestone texture. Any advice?

Btw, good first post!
I am an artist. All the art you see on my profile is by me, if it's not I will say so and whom its owner is.
