As you can see I added a bit of gradient and darker corners to make it look better (my opinion. NO OFFENCE)
Wow, there is definitely a difference! But that is a style. Yours with that gradient has a bit more centered depth, but I find that mine is focusing more on edge shading for a more flat brick look while making the brick still seem to have depth.
I do find that yours looks great, but one thing is that if you add to much depth, as realistic as it may look now, as soon as you look at it on from any angle, it will seem very flat with that much depth flush on a wall.
Like I said though, that looks nice, and I probably will make an alternate like that, especially since I really want to make a customizer download, but I'm waiting to have enough alternates. So thanks for that example, I will use it (as an example, not just take that texture) but I think I'll keep my current as my main for now.

Thanks. I understand that the gradient is a bit too much but my point is the details. Your texturepack has a very good style and it's a special thing of every texturepack that the style can't be ruined. Keep it
I wouldn't say it's too much, I actually think it's really appealing, nice, smooth and almost round-feeling. The theme of this pack isn't that strong, in fact, I made it under the name of "themeless realism" before releasing it. So I could take your advice with some blocks and alternate textures, but style is something that's always solid in it's ways.
I appreciate that though, The style is always a tough one for me, so I'm glad this pack has a decent one.
I will, I have it updated almost to the latest snapshot, but I came to a problem and had to redownload minecraft.jar, so I'll get the 1.4 pre and work early.

Dude I love your texture pack, and I know this is abit odd.. but how do you do the screenshots with the picture frame around them like that?
Thank you! About the screenshots, it isn't done by everyone, in fact, people like steelfeathers don't do it, and there is a good reason; the effects like that, you have to make yourself. You have to take a screenshot, open it with an image editor, crop it, resize it, add a border (in my case, a white border that is a bit thicker on the bottom), and put text on it. Then you can add effects like the blur, or "bloom effect" around text, or add shading over the picture.
It's time consuming, but if you really want to have them, and you have that kind of time, I'm sure you could make them. Just make an original style if you do. A lot of people make fancy things like that, but it is more impressive if it's original. The idea behind doing that sort-of thing is to make the post look appealing, so there are an infinite number of creative designs for those. Mine, sadly, aren't very creative or original.
Ok, update time! This one has quite a few features.
Features
- New nether brick
- New stone brick
- New Brick
- Iron door
- All piston textures done (except for sticky piston head)
- CTM glass now has a wooden frame and has corner supports (updated for betterglass support with the new textures)
- Note block/Jukebox side texture done

In other news, the alternate textures have really been piling up, so I will add a customizer download, and it will be released soon.
Is there a reason you chose the nether brick to be black? Personally I like the dafault dark red, devilish color uses. The other bricks are nice though

Thank you!
About the nether brick, personally, I found that with red-ish lava, red netherrack, red fog, red sky colour, and red zombie pigman, the nether looked extremely red, which I didn't like the look of, so I made the nether brick a dark grey. It is evil looking, and isn't perfectly symmetrical so I find that it still looks nethery, while making the fortress seem more like an evil castle, rather than a mess of compacted red stuff.
I suppose everyone has there own opinions, I may be the only one who feels this way, after all So, I will add a new, red nether brick texture in the alternates image, and in the customizer that I will have soon have. If more people request red nether brick, I'll make it the main, and make the black / grey nether brick an alternate instead.
Thanks for the feedback!

Yes I will agree with you on the Nether being monochromatic. I and I'm guessing the majority of players don't spend much time in the Nether anyway so its never been an issue. I like taking the brick to the overworld to build with since it is such a contrast to stone and wood. Looking over your dark grey brick again, it would be very nice to build with. There aren't a lot of darker colored blocks aside from wool, which I don't like using. Now I want both nether brick lol.

True that, I do that myself. I only really use strongholds in the nether to see my nether brick textures in action.
(I will get that far in survival mode eventually)

I have more textures in progress, but I'm now getting down to those last few textures that I always have trouble with. I guess I'll get help where I can. So, do you guys think that I should make the wooden door look more modern? Or should it look wild and more natural, keeping more of a wood look?
Off the topic of questions, I'll give you an update on progress, the next update isn't set on a date yet, but it will include a few block textures, namely TNT and the wooden door, but it will focus more on the item textures. I also have a lang edit, so the emeralds are now rupees, to match my textures. In the GUI, it will call the corresponding items "block of rupees", "rupee ore" and "rupee" for the emerald itself, as my texture is extremely similar to rupees in TLOZ.

I like the natural look but for this texture pack a modern would work much better.
Also I had this idea just now. Is it possible to have different wooden doors for each of the different types of planks? That would probably require a lot of work if at all possible. It would be neat though

Hmm, I agree, that would be good for building, especially in jungles or tundra so it would have colours to match, but how to do it... I'm not sure if one can do that, but I think I'll make the door first, so you guys can build without a default door, then I'll see what I can do.
Thanks for the feedback! I'll see about getting a more modern style door so I can look around and see if I can do that!
