@Everyone: As always, thanks for all of the positive feedback. I already decided on the second cobble, (which I'm glad everyone likes better) did, the glass and am planning to make emerald ore and torches for the next release/update. Hopefully those textures will be up by Friday.
The second cobble looks better, I find, because it has slightly stronger dark shading, and I notice that one of the overly long stones is shortened in the second.
Okay, I don't want to spoil any of the textures that will be released Friday, (I took the second cobble and reworked it, it looks better now) but I do want to share some WIP ore textures that I'm not satisfied with. I think they need to be darker... Maybe?
I need some criticism, so CRITICIZE. (Find any problem you can with it!)
Hopefully the ores are obvious, but it goes, from left to right, redstone, emerald, gold.
I think the ores are great! The redstone especially looks good! It really fits since it has the consistency of dust (hence "redstone dust") when extracted, so it looks good flowing like that, rather than looking like gems. The emeralds... I suppose there could be a bit more of them? And that gold ore could be a bit more gold and gaudy. I find it hard to criticize on some of the most realistic ores I've ever seen!
I think your ores generally look too blurry even though they are not, just because they lack some real highlights and darker shading on some spots. Or in other words, they could use more contrast. I see the same problem in some of your other textures, like the cobblestone preview that you posted.
Besides that, the ores look great.
duuuude. efore you try and nag someone else about bad textures, specially 32x, make one yourself. he realizes there blurry, but its MINECRAFT!!
I don't linke the ores that much, but that may be just me The look a bit unsharp, as mentioned before.. As for the cobbles: Second is nicer, if you were still in doubt
Anyway, I would like to see this released soon, you have things to do, which is understandable, and I don't know if you are a student or a worker, but in the case of a student, Christmas break is soon, so you should have some more time to work on it, and maybe with a bit more progress, you might be able to release it.
Looking great!

Yes, I'll have more time during winter break, and also, I've been working on it, even if I'm not posting updates. Unless there's a texture I would really like feedback on, I like for it to be a surprise.
I think I'll post a download link sometime in the next few updates for those who want to test it out for themselves.

I just based that off the beginning of your above post. You said "I've been busy lately", and I didn't finish reading it, I sort-of jumped to the conclusion that you meant you had little time to work on it at the time, but I finished reading the post and that isn't what you meant. Surprises are nice though, so that's fine. Also, I'd like that idea of allowing some people to test it, I enjoy beta testing people's packs, and this one looks really nice, it does the Victorian theme more justice than any other pack I've seen in my opinion, so it would be a neat thing to try out.
One thing, since you are delving far into the dark Victorian theme, you should consider adding a custom, dark light-map and fog colour to match the textures, because bright white fog in the day and very bluish fog at night won't really match the textures much. and whatever the thing is called that the light-map changes is very bright and blue, so it also wouldn't really fit.

Yes, definitely. I'll change all of that as well as the sky. I think that ambiance is something very important to a texture pack. If all there that the texture pack consists of is textures with the default shading, I think it really detracts from the possible experience. First I want to finish the terrain though, I've decided to be very disciplined with this so that I don't get into doing the mobs or something and never really finish the terrain. As soon as I get the stone bricks finished I believe it'll be time for another update, so stay tuned.
i wouldn't have been able to live with myself if i didnt make a joke out of it, lol
Ahem, anywho.

Oh, wait, it's just a (Insert Word Here)
What do you mean "sign?"
I would interpret it as "download".
