Nice pack, very dark and eerie, I like it. Not a huge fan of the lava, but that's mostly since I use lava as an alternative lighting source in my humble abode, so the green just isn't jiving for me.
Gotta say though, those are some sick torches. I'll keep this pack in mind maybe for another world, or when I feel like descending in the deep dark depths of my soul... Ahh! Creeper!

Thanks! The torches were actually the first, maybe second thing I made in MC...aside from a couple player skins. Lava....yeah gotta love lava (or hate it, depending). I plan on making animated water and lava so they will both be changing (hopefully) for the better....thanks in part to Grugsy and the tutorial that is.
Speaking of Grugsy... to you! (just kidding... )

I'm rather sick today, so I'm not sure whether I already said this already, but I'll say it anyway. This is a wonderful pack Gestankfaust! You have really outdone yourself on it! The quality of the textures is great and the atmosphere is even better! I've always been a HUGE fan of Lovecraft (one of my favorites is Rats in the Walls) and this just seems to call to me. I'll have to keep a closer eye on this pack. Many to you!

Everyone's sick this last week or two!!
Sorry to hear that Croco. Thanks VERY much for taking the time to post that. I know what it takes to say something nice when I'm sick. But here's a cough drop . I gave one to Grugsy and he got better

This makes me really, really, really want to get back to pipeworld.
I was there for an hour or two and built a large doggy castle (large for dogs at least). But seems most are taking a break from there right now...especially Pipe (sticks tongue out at Pipe). I've been keeping busy with textures and stuff more too though...and getting distracted by more and more new MC stuff....

Just thought I'd slip on by here....
I thought you had a different pack or did you rename it?
I'm really impressed by this pack. I happened to stumble upon it and notice the... cute... creepers. =D
Anyway, this is excellent work. Keep it up man!
Hiya Scuttles! The pack you may be referring to is Stankepack...my first effort. This is playing off of that but evolving into much more (is why it's taking so long :biggrin.gif:).
Thanks for the compliments!! (the creepers are really cute? Then what did you think of the chicken I hacked together? :tongue.gif:)
I have spent the better part of two days doing custom water and lava...what a task!!

Ok...so it's been a bit since I updated with anything as far as progress. This is due in LARGE part to setting foot into the realm of animated lava/water/portals. For the last two and a half days (or more), I have been doing/redoing/redoing again the animated lava and portal. COMPLETE trial and error...but I got them done. Not only that, but have a couple alts to include in the next update.
So...tomorrow morning I should have them zipped and posted. Along with more texture updates, new underwater (what you see under water) file, and possible more tweaks to the zombie/cultist and slimer(since I dun like them much).
Question!
Does anyone know what the glass.png is for? I redid it thinking it did something...but didn't see a difference. Not used...just like so many other files/textures right now?
Anyway...Here's some screens and a video to follow for the portal and lava. Trust me when I say...they look better animated:
The before portal/lava shot:

I hate doing animated water and lava... so annoying! D:
Hard to tell from the pictures but i'm sure did a good job of it too! Lemme replenish your stock of cough drops:
Haven't tried to make my own animated portal yet, is that hard to make?

Hard? not so much as tedious honestly. I threw away a hundred more times than I kept. :biggrin.gif:
The tutorial HERE helped a ton. The only reason I decided to tackle them now really. Making the actual animation takes the longest, but is best to tackle many times with different looks/textures. The rest is icing really.
One of the funniest things I noticed, was that after doing the animated flowing lava file, it looked EXACTLY the same as the game animated it. But then when you make a couple more layers....aha! Then you gotta do the still or it animates some other lava I've never seen (even in the original).
Anyway...I could write about it for hours....

You should make a video showcasing them, but from I can see they look great! I personally think the blueish portal compliments your obsidian wonderfully! Oh, and thanks for the cough drop! I'm still sick, but at least I don't have the more unpleasant symptoms anymore! I still sound like that squid from Spongebob though.

Well I'm glad yer feeling better. I bet now I get sick cause you and Grugsy were sick. Always comes in threes right?
:biggrin.gif:
Yeah I will have a video with the release tomorrow early'sh. I'm making a few changes to the pack though. Was walking around different maps I have and noticed that I need to look at early 1900's Massachusetts buildings and structures. Seems the have more brick and iron...real iron, not my fancy cooltastic one :tongue.gif:
Anyway...must get sleep so I can get it done
Night all!

Ooh, I liked the video, its a cool idea showing off all the versions leading up to the finals. Your new title screens look really good too. I'll have to make a new one for my pack, I forgot that you could even change the one on the menu! When are you going to make custom buttons?
The use of the one-eyed creeper had me chuckling, but works a treat and that cold haunted view out of the window really helps set the scene for entering a Cthulhu world, but how'd you manage all this on top of all your animation antics? I definately need to get over here for inspiration more often, just sorry I haven't given more support!
This is turning out to be a very classy theme pack, as I knew it would from the start! Great work indeed, Gestankfaust.
Those animations..
If I saw movement like that in real life I would be more inclined to the longing of touching them, despite the risk of burning to a crisp.
It great, except one thing. The cthulhu picture that comes up instead of cracks when you break something, it doesn't make sense at all. Can you please make an alternatie with "real" cracks, I tried to do it myself but it ended up looking stupid.
Yeah...that's one thing I can do in the next day or so. I tend to agree more and more, that it's a neat effectt, but doesn't really fit unless I were doing it all overboard...which I may (tentacles everywhere!)
Thanks for the comments :smile.gif:

btw..that's the view from my window...sort. It's a desktop I did from when it snowed here. No tinting done either. It really looked eerie like that. I just made the window frame effect.
The animations ended Friday :biggrin.gif: (now I get to have fun again)

Worked all day on them...and I am kinda pleased. So I decided to add them to the pack and make a "b" version update. You can either download the whole pack, or just add the particles.png to the pack's main directory from here
Screens are hard to get and hard to show...but here are a couple:
