I made an account for the express purpose of following your work. It is very excellent and I love the lovecraftian theme.
Are there future plans for Ghasts or will they stay as is?
Also, would it be alright for me to edit this for a couple friends (3 people) to use with me on my server?
Thank you very much for that!
:biggrin.gif:
There are complete and total plans for this and My other packs. I switch up to keep my creative itch goin. Right now, however, I'm dealing with real life and not at my computer (or in mind) long enough to do more than reply here now and again.
All will be normal soon...I hope
As to editing my stuff?
I've never had anything but joy to anyone using my stuff for anything that pleases them (within the law of course :ohmy.gif:). Even for remixing and other things. But Glimmar (among others) has taught me to make sure I get credit. Or some schmuck will use it for their own gain. But if it's just editing for personal or that type of use, no problem by me.
So feel free ARasputin!

Completely understandable, I'm one of those people that believe real life always takes precedence over the Internet and computer-related things. I hope whatever has your mind elsewhere for the time being can be resolved on a good note. It's good to hear about your plans for future ghasts because, between you and me, I'm terrible at this. I tried to reskin the ghast to look like a giant squid-thing and it turned out terrible.

Thank you very much, and no worries I will be putting a list of all the artists (that gave permission to use their work of course) I borrowed from and I probably won't even put it on the forums but through MSN with my friends. We are attempting to make a city based in victorian era with the idea that there are cultists everywhere living amongst the "normal" citizens, but nobody knows who is or isn't a worshipper of cthulhu. Except the cultists of course.
It gets very difficult when my tex pack looks different from theirs. Where in one persons view the Iron and Cobblestone are amazing to build with, the other finds it a horrendous abomination. This texture pack has given us a happy medium.
Hey, Gestank. Just wondering if you A) gave permission to Kris Eike to use your textures in a remix pack, and :cool.gif: if you gave him permission to include a DONATE button and adf.ly links. The pack in question is his HorrorCraft pack, located here.
What a jackass. Reported. Not gonna even post there.
douchebags...
Thanks though Sheep
:smile.gif:
Not a problem. I noticed that one of his other packs uses a number of Glimmar's stuff, along with other people, and there's a bunch of people yelling at him there. Decided to check out the other packs he "made" and came across that. Hopefully he'll get dealt with for that.
Just to let you know, I decided to take care of this guy in a slightly more direct fashion. Reported him to the adf.ly website for violating DMCA laws on three of his four packs.
I've been looking for a different texture pack for awhile, even though I adore my current. I think this'll be it! Can't wait to give this a test run. :happy.gif:

Maybe you could make the ghasts look like star spawn :biggrin.gif:
Thanks you two. I really appreciate that.
Unfortunately, I am unable to work on this for a few days still. Real life is making it more than impossible. I did have plans for new content and will start on it when things calm down.
About the moon. The concept was mine, but I did not create the pic. I rarely do with the sun or moon. I had planned to make a destroyed Earth with tentacles wrapped around it and the moon in the background. I will create this from scratch.
Again, thanks for the very awesomely kind words

I worried a lot about your opinion... as most of your work had a story behind and i wasn't sure about a possible GUI background. In another point i didn't know if it comes close enough to your very realistic style.
I would be proud if you could help me spicing it up when it is done.
I would be glad to.
:smile.gif:
Just a note to you and everyone else. I'm still on an extended break do to having to move after being threatened and harassed. So, it's not been a good time to be creative.
Hopefully things get back to normal soon.

It reminds me a lot of Glimmar's Steampunk, I like.
But, how is that texture pack complication video you told me about doing?
Thanks Sandvich!
Funny how many people have said that about Glimmar's. He is/was such an inspiration and allowed me to really get me feet wet in doing some work for his pack (extras stuff).
The video will be done as soon as the real life drama ends. I feel like Jerry Springer will be calling soon....

sry that i was a little out of time in the past... but today i tried something different for my GUI remake for mythos.
I hope you like it:
I'm a little slow in my progress as everything is completly drawn from scratch. I changed the color to a sick green and a little rusty brown. Actual progress shows how i would like the result box in the GUI to look like.
Please leave comments :wink.gif:
That. is. beautiful.
I can't wait to see what this pack becomes--it is my favorite atm :smile.gif:
Keep up the amazing work. I wish I'd known about this pack when spent three weeks trying to build R'lyeh. Building really large scale underwater is not the smartest move, I know this now, but this pack almost makes me want to try again!

I got some more progress and updated my second dropbox file. I already have some ideas for the furnance, but stucking at the overall inventory grid... =/
Maybe someone else got some ideas?
I love what you have done. Might have some time to give the grid a crack. What I would do is use the default inventory (resized for 32x or higher, if you can go 64x on a 32x pack?) as an underlay guide for the grid.

Tolkien is a pretty cool guy, he invents orcs and stuff and doesnt afraid of anything
that said, i will definately use this soon.
it so hard to decide what texturepacks to use :< I always make a world for each pack, switching between the packs as im switching between the worlds, but the problem is i cant maintain so many worlds, because im finding too many good texturepacks :I
It has a really nice feel to it, and thats what makes me love texturepacks. like all of dokus work feels so rpg-adventure-ish, jolicraft looks so happy, and your pack looks so... dirty. Not in a bad way, its probably the wrong word. I mean, when I build a structure with it, it looks like its modern, yet old. Like its not actually old, but just looks like no one was taking care of it. abandoned. I really like that, and it makes the 'foreveralone' aspect of ssp really great.
i also wanted to mention that whenever i see a pack, i can see some creations im gonna build.
in this pack its a big shopping mall with a giant warehouse. If i do this one day (maybe i will, maybe i wont, im not building a lot of good stuff) i will be sure to show you some of it.
edit: oh also just saw the netherrack, and this is something i thought about for a long time already! I always imagined the nether as some kind of giant castle-dungeon, like the castles with the bosses in some older super mario games.
Thank you =) but the grid itself is not the problem... i just have no idea how i want it to look like... maybe i should just go to bed an continue working on it tomorrow. :wink.gif:
P.S.: And at the moment i'm using 512*512 what is double the size of the original. I thought you used this measurements for your furnance GUI so i thought it will be okay.
Yeah..I believe 512x512 is what I had planned. The furnace was made before I even started my first pack

The nether is a real WIP for me. Now with SMP getting the Nether, I'll touch on it more. I want it to look like dark cobble with the current eerie glowstone. Just not sure what to make the slow/soul sand (which is it anyway?). I could make it the current "flesh/guts", which is just in as a filler to test. Or some sort of gory mud as it slows you down when you walk on it?
I think the soulsand (thats the name!) being piled bones would make sense.
Exactly. The texture now can be the base layer and I'll add bones and such. I actually got to mess around a bit last night. Still trying to get the right base of building blocks for main structures like they would have had in the late 20's and early 30's. Mainly, the cobble seems still to be out of place. I hope to maybe make a few examples and post a poll to see which is better suited for everyone.

-Added new (default for now) textures
-Updated the items.png with a new map and the extra fishing pole...that I had no idea was there or why
Will try to work on redoing the defaults when I can...thanks for your patience.

Haha! Thanks to U for that.
Building underwater has always been a challenge. If you are opposed to using inventory mods, you can use sponge to temporarily hold off water.
