HOORAY finally someone is doing a Lovecraft texture pack. The gothic/steampunk blocks are really fitting here. I like the way this is looking, do you think you might be able to change the pictures, ala "Pickman's Model" Style?
For YOU!
Working on the art file today(ish). So I should have the proper files updated for all the pic mods (I'm assuming that's a mod yer referring to).
Update coming quickly as I noticed the creeper didn't make it into the release...so now it will be (plus another mob :biggrin.gif:)

Now that's just awesome! I'll have to put that (if you don't mind) in the OP. I'm gonna get, and use the map for running around, testing the pack.
If you are making Innsmouth, and using the pack to run around, you'll really have to tell me what you think. Like the gravel. It's from Stankepack, and I like it, but never thought of it for streets and such. How's it lookin for you?
Oh yeah, if you want to, please feel free to use it in the OP and for testing. I still have so much to do on it though. The town layout is from... Innsmouth Map Streets and building placement more or less corespond with a few exceptions (Church street only has 2 churches instead of 4!)
For gravel, I prefer really really dark gravel, so I can use it for streets. As close to black as possible, but still light enough to see the texture. like.
But.. other players dont use gravel at all, or for other reasons. What you have looks great for that. Much better then vanilla gravel.
Excited to see what you do with the water biomes.

Art file (kz.png) is done. Some pics (train sections) from Glimmar's with permission. I like the idea of having the train sections to work with this pack. Lends to the atmosphere. This may change if/when I find more stuff to add (like for the pic mods).

This pack is coming along great! I really like the ornate designs you come up with.
I think you could improve your creeper texture by having some faked lighting in there. You could make top-facing planes a bit lighter, side-facing planes a bit darker and bottom facing planes a lot darker. I think this will help to make it look more 3d.
Additionally, you could fake some ambient occlusion by putting a subtle gradient on the whole character that makes it lighter at the top and darker towards the bottom. That will make the character look more "grounded".
About the creeper...good ideas that I'll hafta try out. Was goin for the "blending in with the terrain" thing. I'll fool around with them some more tomorrow.
You guys should really check out that Innsmouth map by Anon...Seriously puts you in the mood. I did the art file just so I could go back and see it all

Texture pack looks great! But the lava looks abit weird but everything else looks great! Good for haunted towns
The lava was a bit weird at first, but after I got used to it I grew to love it. :biggrin.gif: Gives my map a very surreal, dreamlike feel to it. I realized last night right as I was shutting down my computer that I havent been to the nether yet using this TP. I cant wait to check it out.
I plan on doing animated water and lava files for this. If you guys have never seen John Smiths http://www.minecraftforum.net/viewtopic.php?f=1021&t=29164 custom water and lava files, the are sill the best to me. Whether you like the actual color or no, the animation totally changes water and lava. They override the textures on the terrain.png completely I believe.
In the meantime, is there anything I could do with the lava? I want to keep it a brighter, blueish hue if at all possible. Keeping in mind that it isn't our world any more .
And I will have a rather big chunk of an update by tomorrow at least. Got some real life work to do first....for a change

This is a awesome pack. Turning the slime into the Yog Sothoth would be very fitting. Maybe you could have some deep ones as a water creature. That would be sweet.

Thanks!
Deep Ones I was already adding as the zombie. But not sure still. There's still the pig zombie to make a Deep One if I choose to make the zombie a cultist squid face :biggrin.gif:
What about the regular animals? I was thinking of making them look sorta normal, but "off" just a tad. Maybe have them decaying sort of. Decrepit...

Dogs, being the least walking-cube mob, will be somewhat creepy even when they're friendly. Best go for a zombie type look rather than a scary wolf look. A scary wolf being your pet is cool, but a zombie one (if you get the skin right) is creepy.
Lol! Reaper, you fickle Cthulhuan you...falling for another pack. Aaargh!
I like this Gestankfaust guy though...he really knows how to flatter folk!

I'm working on the art file now. Have some cool stuff in there and want to use some from Glimm's if/when he gives permission.

1. Does anyone ever see the slime? So does the slime matter?
2. If yes to both above...Yog Sothoth?
