Redstone will be floor lights, as seen in various Empire interiors, and a bit in the Falcon. The new textures have "overlay" images for Redstone Dust, so it's not always red now.
I'll probably use this technique for making lights along the docking bay bulkheads in the Death Star:
The stone slab is pulling double-duty. If you use it as a wall material, it's white, but if you use it on the floor or ceiling, it's a grate. It's the only slab that uses a separate texture for the top. It will be used for grating in the Falcon, Star Destroyers, and Cloud City carbon chamber. Here it is inside the Falcon:
Here's the Falcon ramp, using it as a ceiling grate:
oh, i derped. i was trying to think of "wither skeleton" as the ship. i'm always mixing up wither and wither skeleton
I've got some textures in mind for creating his ship (Slave I) out of wool and stuff, so that people can actually get inside it like the tie fighter and x wing.
for wither, i'm leaning toward droideka. the skeleton and wither skeleton are battle droids... we'll see if it works.
small update. after looking through various settings, it seems there's a use for "long vertical lights" and "long horizontal lights"
Here is the docking bay using vertical lights on the ... what are those, buttresses?
Paradise Decay was pretty much the guy who started it all for me. His Death Star Run machinima was jaw-dropping. He detailed every part of the trench after stills from the movie.
So, here's a screenshot of our very own R2 in PD's latest endeavor, recreating Star Wars: A New Hope in Minecraft. I've seen the first 8 minutes and it's pretty exciting. Can't wait for it!
Using quartz now instead of birch. Birch might end up being another type of sandstone. I think it's important that the textures match the originals as much as possible. It allows for easier crafting, and if you make something using the textures, it's not going to look like a clown show with the textures off.

I finally got connected textures to work again. It's usually used for windows and glass. But I'll also give the interiors some variety by making connected textures for the Death Star/Star Destroyer, and Tantive/Cloud City/Hoth.

The same painting, used in a hallway for Tantive IV: (Not sure if this hallway should even be posted. It was done in an hour and not very good.)

Below is the beginnings of "Docking Bay 327". Hm, it might be a little "too" blue.

Here's the latest villager skin:
For those of you wondering all the below is made with one block. The textures change according to the shape of the connecting blocks.
Here is the tractor beam area of the Death Star, using the same connected texture.

I have two work in progress resource packs!
This is the second one!
And of course, by "work-in-progress" I mean "will never, ever be completed".
