I ran Windows Threat Protection tonight and it is flagging multiple files in the resource packs folder of Minecraft for Windows as malicious files.

They files are:

C:\XboxGames\Minecraft for Windows\Content\data\behavior_packs\vanilla\recipes\Tmp7251919

C:\XboxGames\Minecraft for Windows\Content\data\resource_packs\chemistry\textures\items\compounds\Tmp34196274

C:\XboxGames\Minecraft for Windows\Content\data\resource_packs\vanilla_1.21.90\textures\entity\shield_patterns\Tmp68525164

In all three it detected this item: TrojanDownloader:O97M/Qakbot.Y!MTB

I haven't played Minecraft for Windows on this computer in a long time although I haven't ran Threat Protection in a long time either.

Are these actually malicious files or is Threat Protection flagging them incorrectly?

These are False Positives

TrojanDownloader:O97M/Qakbot.Y!MTB

Qakbot refers to Word/Excel macros - your mentioned files are temp files of jpg and json files
MBT is some kind of KI based detection system - it just flagged these files - tmp files don't have a signature
