So I know that in 1.16, custom models can be tied to blocks using specific orientations (North East South West Up Down), but was wondering whether it was possible to have block varieties tied to this too. Let's say I have red stained glass, one has a square pattern, whilst the other has a diamond shaped pattern.
Two questions:
- Would it be possible to do this for all colours of stained glass, thus having multiple patterns per colour of stained glass without using the "random block variations"
- If possible, how would one, when in-game, get the specific patterns (when you know what the orientation values for the specific patterns are of course).
If it is possible, but not through orientations but through something else (whilst not removing other blocks from the pack like retexturing black stained glass to look like a variation on the red stained glass) then please let me know too!
I don't know about block orientation, but I know (if you use optifine) that you can have different textures depending on the blocks around it. Such as glass having a square pattern if it's on top of cobblestone and another pattern if it's on top of oak planks.
Hey guys,
So I know that in 1.16, custom models can be tied to blocks using specific orientations (North East South West Up Down), but was wondering whether it was possible to have block varieties tied to this too. Let's say I have red stained glass, one has a square pattern, whilst the other has a diamond shaped pattern.

If it is possible, but not through orientations but through something else (whilst not removing other blocks from the pack like retexturing black stained glass to look like a variation on the red stained glass) then please let me know too!
Kind regards and thanks in advance.
