First forum post, apologies for any errors. Playing on Java 1.14.2.
After attempting to install the 1.14.2 Faithful resource pack earlier today, I was met with a game crash every time I tried to log the resource pack on. Having it on my resource pack list or on my computer is harmless, but activating it causes the game to enter the loading screen and promptly crash as soon as it is done loading. Trying to boot it up again has the same result, and the only way to fix this is to go into my files and remove the texture pack from the folder.
I'm also using OptiFine, in case that helps. There's a possibility I made a dumb mistake since Faithful and OptiFine are my first attempts at downloading external content to Minecraft.
For reference, I followed the steps outlined in this video.
Does anyone know a way of fixing this crash so I can use the resource pack without major issues?
The texture pack is named "Steven's Traditional 64x64 [1.14]".
I tested a bit, and I did get a 32x32 version of Faithful to work without crashing, although it lags slightly every now and then. So it's definitely not an issue with corruption in the files or anything.
Just extract the files from the resource pack into another folder (right click>extract all), then navigate to the fonts folder and delete it. If the folder is in your resource packs directory, you don't need to re-zip it to use the pack.
If you have 7zip installed, you can open the zip file in that and just delete the fonts folder directly without having to un-zip the pack.
