So overlay in CTM is extremely limited it seems. i'm trying so hard to just replace the png textures that form a overlay on one of the blocks (the one that requires 17 textures to work) with a random or repeat method, the it seems like overlay blocks ignore the .propertie that command the replacement! i mean, there has to be a way to make overlays have repeat or random textures. does anyone know of a way?

I've never done this specifically before but I know when you combine CTM methods the key is to assign the secondary method to the tiles rather than the host block. What I mean is if you have a traditional CTM for bookshelves and you want to give random textures to the main field of the area then my .properties file for the random method would be assigned to tile 26 (if I remember correctly), not to the bookshelf itself. Same thing if I want to add horizontal connectivity to a vertical CTM method, I need to create horizontal CTM for tiles 0, 1, and 2 since a block can only have 1 .properties file. I'd be willing to help you figure this out but I have no desire to design an overlay CTM and try to add randomness to it from scratch so without a copy of what your currently working with and a detailed description of the desired results I'm at a stand-still.
thank you very much for replying man, but yea i understand that, i have the knowledge of making CTM connect in just about any way and with any deepness i want as well, the problem isn't doing it normally, or the naming structure and so forth, the problem is that i can't do any of that with an OVERLAY CTM. i tried it, i set out a classic CTM where the middle is a Repeat ctm and the borders of the Classic CTM is a Vertical ctm on a block and on an overlay border, all of the "on-top" ctms (the repeat and the vertical) that just replaces Tiles rendered by the Classical CTM worked just fine when replacing the texture for the Block, but not when replacing the tiles from the Overlay. so it may seem it is indeed impossible, so i just came asking around to see if someone knew a workaround.
