This question might have been asked already, sorry if it has.
I'm currently using MadPixel's 16x16 resource pack. Unfortunately it hasn't been updated in around 6 months, and due to the slight changes to the horse and mule mob textures in 1.13, the horses in my client have been rendered practically invisible. I absolutely love MadPixeI's texture pack and I'm hoping I don't have to find a new texture pack to solve this issue...
Is there any way I can use the default Minecraft horse and mule textures while also keeping all of the other textures in MadPixel's resource pack?

Sure there is. Start by unpacking the .zip and while you have everything there you can open up the pack.mcmeta and change the pack format from version 3 to version 4 (this will get rid of the annoying red box and the 'outdated' warning). You can navigate to assets/minecraft/textures and manually rename the 'blocks' and 'items' folders to 'block' and 'item' which will fix them OR you can look for and download a '1.13 texture pack converter' which will rename those folders as well as any images inside that have the wrong names.
Once you have a pack converted to 1.13 getting the vanilla horses to load instead of the ones from the resource pack is as simple as deleting assets/minecraft/textures/entity/horse Minecraft, by default, will fill any missing textures from a resource pack with the vanilla version so as long as you don't have a file for it minecraft will apply the default. Just re-zip the package when you're done and put it back in your resource pack folder. Hope that helps.
