So I've been messing with McPatcher/Optifine for a bit now and I've gotten the hang of most of its features (At least I am trying), however, I've tried to change mobs depending on biome and for some reason, it refuses to work. Here are the configs that refuse to work:
Firstly the bear folder is the correct folder not the polarbear folder, you can remove the polarbear folder as it isn't doing anything and will help stop confusion later on.
All alternate textures start from 2 not 1, 1 refers to the default texture for the mob.
Rename 'polarbear1.png' and 'blaze1.png' to 'polarbear2.png' and 'blaze2.png' respectively.
You will also need to update the properties files for both blaze and polarbear to have 'skins.1=2' instead of 'skins.1=1'.
This will fix the polar bear textures.
The structure of the mob folder must be the same as the textures/entities folder in the default assets.
The blaze.properties and blaze2.png must not be in the blaze folder, they must both be in the mcpatcher/mob folder, as the blaze texture is in the textures/entities folder and not in any further subfolders (ie not textures/entities/blaze), unlike the polar bear texture which is in textures/entities/bear.

I really appreciate the help! It's funny because I actually figured this all out yesterday because I really wanted to get it working, I sadly didn't get the blaze working though, but now I know how. Thanks for the help!

Here's a download of the mob's folder: https://www.dropbox.com/s/qyn6uc3a9x4vyit/Mobs.zip?dl=1 in case someone wants to take a look at how everything is setup, some clarity would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Dan
