I am making some 3D models for my mod, and have been using Nova skin editor for the rest of the block textures. It is very easy using Nova as my texture maker. However, when is there an engine for complicated 3D models? Where I can upload my own and edit them from there? Models with complicated and over-lapping textures are very hard to texture, and I have been looking for an easy way. Any suggestions would be great!
Specialized skin editors won't work for custom models. They're only programmed to handle the default models, so if you introduce your own models with your own texture mapping, they won't be able to handle it. You'll need an image editor like GIMP to be able to edit custom model textures.
You mentioned "overlapping" textures. I'm not sure what you're talking about there, but I hope you're aware that you can use the "texture offset" setting on the model parts to move their texture around on the map.

This was very helpful.I am looking into Gimp, and I have found the texture offset option. Thank You!
