So I used classic ctm on my netherrack block and did the 0-46 and etc and it's working fine, but the top of the block is the same as the side of the top which messes the image up.
I know that there is fixed ctm and how it works.
(Pretty much following this and an mc patcher guide http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1895091-setting-a-block-to-have-different-sides-and-top-textures/)
I tried making netherracka.properties and putting in
method=fixed
faces=top
tiles=47
Since it's in the same folder I just made a new picture.
To sum it up, I can't seem to get the block to double ctm. If someone knows what I'm doing wrong that'd be awesome
Try specifying a block ID in both properties files; the one for the side and the one for the top.
so you mean something like... ?
method=ctm
tiles=0-46
faces=north, south, east, west
and a
method=fixed
tiles=47
faces=top, bottom
[renaming them block87.properties and block87a.properties does no better with what I have. I think the problem is in the coding and organization itself]
Try naming the file something else, and then putting "matchBlocks=87" in the file. I don't like using the name of the file to specify block id, because it can cause problems like this.

Still not working. I'm gonna try this and another method using normal fixed ctm with one simple image for a block and see if that works and edit the post with the results
edit: well, I can't seem to get it to work for the sand block with just the fixed ctm...
so the problem is the coding to do fixed ctm.
it seems that almost no one knows how to do it and that there are no guides
edit 2: I used Broken Anachronism and it has a fixed for nether quartz and a diff type for netherrack and for some really annoying reason when I copied the location, names, and code of the files it still didn't work for me. I'm starting to really get lost
Hmm, that is really strange. Your code seems alright, I can't really see why it wouldn't work. Would you mind sending me a copy of your pack in a PM or something so I can take a look at it myself?

still doesn't want to work for some reason =\
Wouldn't I be unable to specify the face for the ctm part anyway? or would it just go with the other lines
You can specify a face on any CTM method, as far as I know.
block87.properties
method=ctm
tiles=0-46
faces=sides
block87a.properties
method=fixed
tiles=47
faces=top bottom
I have 0-47 images in the folder.
It doesnt want to read the second prop for some reason. or it's still wrong
