I'm messing around using a few different texture packs lately, and I do a lot of mining in MineCraft. The packs I've tried seem to me to go overboard in painting mine tunnels lit with torches as really red. (When I first entered a mine shaft with one of the packs active, I thought my monitor had gone bad!) Yes, torchlight is on the reddish side I know. I just have a hard time when the hotbar items' durability bar can't be distinguished from the background, and when I can't figure out what blocks are stone, what blocks are gravel, etc.
I like Playful a lot and I have also used Crafteryana. I would welcome suggestions for either ways to tweak these toward less red torchlight, or for similar texture packs to try.
