Left two rows are Cobble. Middle row is Glass and Pumpkins. Right rows are Stone Bricks
The cobble looks more like stone brick than the stone brick does, and vice versa.

Roses are red, violets are blue, sugar is sweet, and so are you.
The roses are wilted, the violets are dead, the sugar bowl's empty, and so is your head.
If this was a building competition, you would win.

I think it has too defined and rounded and detailed shapes to count as 'simple'. Try reducing the amount of dithering and use large areas of a single colour.
ok after i saw siiki's textures and people dont call ot simple, i begin to doubt my own stuff :/
Is that Simple?
(i hope so )
In my opinion, no that's not simple. There is just too much texture in there to fit in a 16x space, especially in the sand and grass. I can see where you tried to do simplistic-style shading, but in 16x16, the pixels tend to crowd up. Try upping the resolution and see if that frees up any space.
They're still very nice textures; I just wouldn't call them simplistic.
Siiki and Ignaf, I would have to say that those don't count as simple. Siiki, try using less dithering and simpler clusters. Ignaf, try reducing the amount of stray colors that only create noise.

The official Bluebird continuation is underway! Please come and help keep the pack alive!
Those textures are fantastic, but you're still attempting to make planks really look like planks and cobble really look like cobble, which is missing the point. I'd advise you to go look at some of the example packs on the list Peyton posted a while ago - compare them to what you have here, and I think you'll see the difference.

How this is simple...?
Putting the CENDENT back in transcendent!

Wow... that first pic looks nice. Really nice. Can't tell if it's the build, the colors, or both. Nice work!

Make sure the file "grass_side_overlay" is proper.

Thanks! I think the problem was that the image was the wrong size, though.
Anyway, here it is.
I also got the randomized textures to work, and fixed up my grass a little so it's not so crazy.
I just made this in 10 minutes. gl lelel
I think I'm going to use Peyton's palette.
Hot damn that is one scrumptious palette. May be a bit too crazy for texturing, but wow it's delicious.
Planks and leaves. I might post screens tomorrow. Your palette has really nice greens, Deonyi.
I want to do a random planks thing like Goodlyay, but I'm too busy doing other things SSB4
