Thanks for the feedback guys, it's for the simple challenge but there's not too much actual feedback going on there, mostly just people posting updated textures.
@Angelo, I'll try to make the grass a bit less clumpy, might try one or two alternates to see if that makes it look nicer too.
@J, good thing with using a small palette is that it's very easy to change colours, especially when there are only two colours used for the texture! I'll have a fiddle with the colours, see if there's one I think fits in better.
This made me remember that in 1.8 (1.8.3 and 1.8.6 for sure) leaves don't actually do inter-block culling. (I checked in spectator mode)
Also, dropped items are still using 3D versions rather than just sprites.
So I'm confused, what does fast mode even do anymore? As far as I remember, making leaves act like an opaque block (and thus inter-block culling on all other opaque blocks+other leaves) was all fast mode ever did when it first existed. Actually, no, I also remember now it disabled recoloring on grass sides but not the top, resulting in the ugliest thing ever. It doesn't do that anymore, either.
Looking it up, fast mode made clouds and items in item frames 2D. Fast mode doesn't render items in item frames in 2D anymore, and apparently cloud fast/fancy is now done through the "clouds" option directly ('fast' and 'fancy' rather than 'on')
So seriously, what does fast mode do anymore? Just make leaves transparent for no reason? Minecraft still renders sealed off underground caves so I know leaves having an opaque texture does nothing for performance.
Also, does anyone know if Curse/minecraft.curseforge is broken? The number ticker seems to have stopped for me, it says I have 80 downloads a month, but 100 downloads total on my newest file that was released 3 months ago. I also haven't gotten any point since 3 days after I last updated, so everything seems to have frozen for me.
Yeah, looking at even the top packs, those updated in April look like they only got a few days of traffic. Newer ones seem to have suspiciously low download counts compared to previous versions/monthly download, too.

I just published a bukkit plugin and all of the sites it goes on are working fine as far as download counters. Although on Curse sometimes the monthly downloads is a couple less than the total. It's probably different for me because It was just published a few days ago, not 3 months.

Well, other then leaves looking worse (especially my spruce leaves it seems...), the only other thing that is still affected is the red vignette effect caused by being too close to the world border and the black vignette around the screen in darker areas is removed on fast graphics. Everything else is its own option now, always enabled, or removed.
I like it but I think the top left corner of glass can be a bit darker.
I dunno, I think the screen has too much shading, making it look rounded, like a cylinder. I suggest removing most of the of the shading, but keeping the reflection... I mean, look at real-world tablet computers: they only have a reflection, no shading. (I assume you're going for something tablet-like...)
I made a texture for a plugin that the owner of a server I play on is developing, based off of this image. It was requested as 16x. Thoughts?
Also, congrats to Steelfeathers for getting featured on Skyrim Mods Weekly.
Kind of unrelated, but I think that this kunai should be a retexture of a hoe, as in real life, kunai were originally meant to be multipurpose farming tools...
its a bucket fill in-depth commentary on modern consumerism's over-exploitation of positive human emotion via minimalistic figures seated in a retro-aesthetic.
It's "jum bo dee es six tee for", NOT "jum bods six tee for" or "jum bo dee es six for". What the heck is a jumbod, anyway?
Made some more textures, and revamped the sand and stone.
The woods are: Oak, Spruce, Birch and Acacia, along with their respective leaves The other ones are tall grass and fern + extra tall variants.
@Ringoster: I have some comments on your palette from the SPS3. You said over there that this is the first time you make one, I thought of giving you some feedback on what I felt using it.
First of all, I like the colors, you chose some very good ones, and the transitions between them are very spot on. There are also some gray-brown-yellow synergies floating around that I quite like. The blues and purples (and if you stretch it a bit, the grays too) also have a good deal of combinations. I have yet to figure them out, as they were the ones I used the least, however, I think I was able to make 6-7 combination for the lapiz lazuli ore alone when mixing them, so I definitely see potential there.
However, I think the greens are not very balanced, the contrast is too high between the darkest and lightest tone, and the two middle ones. At first I was worried about the red being too brown-ish, but once you combine it with other colors it really looks red, so it's all good.
Overall it's great, the reds, browns, yellows and blues have some good synergies, but the greens need to be tweaked as the extremes of the ramp are way too contrasting for a general use.
Thank you for the feedback (and nice textures!)
I've edited the palette:
Much more green variety. The dark colors are also a bit more vibrant.
One of my first textures with new colors and shading, the book.
But I am unsure how it turned out, in my view it's hard on the border to be too bright colored.
So I just want a few more opinions on it before making the other books.
Looks good, except I think the screen's gradient should be angled upwards more. And I don't care for the oblong shape caused by all those grey parts on the edges.

Actually, I based the texture off of a maplestory weapon.
I really like this, but something about it I don't like. I can't put my finger on it.
Also I reworked some textures and made oak planks, however I will probably change the top of the grass though.
The planks don't match well with the dirt imo.
They looks amazing!
Very nice! I think the textures contrast nicely
Do people like this style of tall grass? Or is less clumpy grass better?
I like it, but it could stand to be a bit less clumpy.

@XSSheep I like the more clumpy style of the tall grass. Where can I find this texture pack challenge anyway? I am really interested.
I like it clumpy. Looks great by the way!
Some swords. Partial item transparency is cool.

I am for the first time making real world leaves textures, and I am a little unsure about them as I don't conciser myself especially good a plants.
Fast graphics
The oak and dark oak use a more jagged leaf
Meanwhile the acacia and birch use a smoother leaf
The spruce is meant to be like pine needles with small branches.
Lastly, the jungle contains larger leaves then the rest.
I'm pretty much no longer playing minecraft, but I can always texture in my free time; here's a stonebrick texture I made:
It's 24x
Looks nice. The top right corner looks a bit odd though, as well as the intended block. I don't think stones would be cut in that way!
