What do you mean with 'manual resizing'? Do you want to select a couple of textures and have them all downscaled at once (which isn't possible, I think)?
And, I have a question too.
Question!
I wanted to add a language in a resource pack (my conlang, Bløjhvåtterskyll. A conlang is a constructed language. Yes, I want to translate Minecraft in that language... ), but I encountered some problems. Letters with diacritics don't show up correctly.
Then I opened some language files and found some curious things.
For example, in de_DE.lang (German) you'll find this:
Zurück zum Hauptmenü
Dein Spielmodus wurde geändert
They should be
Zurück zum Hauptmenü
Dein Spielmodus wurde geändert
In-game they appear normal.
I found similar weird-looking things in other language files.
When I use those weird looking things in my language files, the word do appear correctly in-game!
undefined
(yes this is a resource pack related question, because it's about the adding-language aspect of resource packs)
It's all about the file encoding. The language files are encoded in UTF-8, which is a variable-width encoding. Most text editors (Notepad, for example) will recognize UTF-8's distinctive hexadecimal pattern and display the text in UTF-8 instead of the default encoding (usually ANSI). ASCII characters, including the standard Latin alphabet, are the same in ANSI and UTF-8 encoding, but diacritical marked characters are encoded differently, in this case using four bytes instead of two. Your text editor is displaying the text in ANSI despite the file being in UTF-8. Conversely, when you save diacritical characters in the ANSI encoding, Minecraft doesn't recognize them as valid characters, because it expects files to be UTF-8.
l mojang screen appers, instead of my new one (haven't changed the size of the Image)?
That mojang.png is no longer used in Vanilla Minecraft, it is overridden by their own logo every time since 1.7.4 however using MCPatcher, you can overwrite that feature and display your own logo on the loading screen.
Thank you. But how do I know which combinations I have to use to get the diacritics I want? Is looking in other language files a good idea?
You should be able to type normally and save the file as UTF-8 under the "Save As" menu. Alternatively, you can keep the file as ANSI (say if your text editor doesn't support UTF-8) and use the Unicode hex numbers in place of the diacritical characters (\u####).
Nice! Really creative idea there. How are you going to do the villager variations? Colour changes and maybe different 'emoticon' face changes too? They look fantastic btw, love the pixel work as always.
He could probably swap out some of their appendages with tools, like giving a toolsmith a hammer for a hand, or maybe a plasma cutter. Librarians could have e-book faces if you're not being too serious.
Also, this gave me an idea of having villagers as old, decaying technology from a race now extinct... Would be nice if a pack tries to make the world a bit more lonely.
How big do you suppose entity models will be able to be? Planning several things with it. But first:
-snip-
A bigger better boat.
So I think I saw this in a mod, but are you planning this for vanilla? Also, screw you school... I had everything ready to post then homework happened...

So I made this lil' diorama type thing to show off a few new textures I've been working on...
Tell me what ya think!
Dirt has a tiling problem with the biggest pebble, just size it down and it should be fine; it sticks out too much that's all (I think grass has the same problem too). Wood could be better. Good overall. I would suggest randomized textures if you're up to it, it would look good.
Here's some shots of stuff I've made over the past few days.
After I read through that thread lemon posted on dead packs, I kind of had an artist mid-life crisis. I really think that Illustrious is about at the end of it's term, and I don't think I'll continue working on it. Time to move on. But, I really like making hand-painted textures, so maybe I'll start a new pack. I'd sure like to stick around.
This may be a new pack I may start. I might put off Libertas for a while, since it's getting difficult to make new textures. I think it's mainly because there is no theme to Libertas so I have huge trouble getting things to work for me.
For this one, It be somewhat medieval theme, cause that's never been done before! I'm actually excited to get to some items!

Putting the CENDENT back in transcendent!
Most versions of photoshop have a "batch" function that can apply a series of actions to a folder of files.

Why do you guys stare at me?

Edit- hehehe... I has quadral signature.
This is a great idea!!!
What are you referring to?
I've been here for a loooooooooong time.
I believe he is referring to some sort of TAU collaboration pack. I'm pretty sure that no such thing exists, but I may be wrong.

I'm still alive, I guess.

Looks cool-cool and all, but one of the... "cobbles" patterns quite a bit. The little one, it's too round.
Got some grass going for Ödslighet.
Also bookshelf:
Question!. Can I have a custom texture for all the village children? I don't want them to use the same texture as the adults.
Also here is a librarian villager
Thx.
