Spinal inflammation can be treated naturally by lowering stress levels, exercise as much as possible, getting good sleep, using good posture and eating healthier.
So can eczema, arthritis, irritable bowl syndrome, distempter, breast cancer, and...oh yeah, everything.
Living healthy always helps. But take it from someone who has an ongoing condition that took months to diagnose-- saying 'take your vitamins' does NOT make the problem go away. In fact, it only demeans the person who is ill by invalidating their illness. I don't think that was your intention, but the basic effect of your paragraph was the implication that he's sick because he's doing something wrong. Sometimes people really do have something wrong with them, and all the 'sitting up straight' in the world won't do a goddamn thing.
And I'd like to see YOU live through head-splitting migraines without some sort of pain medication. He knows something is wrong. He doesn't need to live with a sledgehammer between the eyes to get the message across.

I did for years as well as horrible back pain until I started taking the advice I provided Frozen with. As I said before; drugs only mask the problem for it to come back potentially worse later and should only be used in case of emergency. Natural treatment can be a more painful solution at first but at least it's a more permanent one with a hell of a lot less repercussions. Most people just want instant gratification not knowing how harmful it can be.

Well I tip my hat to you then. You are stronger than 99% of the human population. But I would ask that you not look down on us mere mortals for seeking some relief.

Psh, I look up to a lot of people here. Especially you until you replied to my post misunderstanding my intentions towards Frozen.
Then carry it to a PM. The last thing drfrozen needs is people bickering over him.
That whole conversation was ridiculous and unnecessary. I regret responding to Steelfeathers on his/ her Yog-high and will probably have to carry it to a PM next time.

It has nothing to do with her feature on yogscast and to imply such is offensive. She, like other people including me. Has had to deal with criticisms such as this from many people.
Yes, healthy living CAN help alleviate many condition but it does not necessarily cure them. For example. I have a form of genetic arthritis, something that can be (and is) made more bearable with exercise and proper eating. However, it is not removed. In fact nothing can completely treat my form of arthritis. (thankfully it is not an overly degenerative kind)
The problem that Steel had with your advice is that people who tend to give that kind of advice also tend to be rather judgmental and automatically assume that people who are unhealthy in any way are a bunch of slothful ignorant pricks. This is not to say that YOU are but speaking from personal experience this tends to hold true.
The advice that you gave Frozen is the same sort of advice that any sensible doctor would give. However, that does not mean that he should go home. While it is likely something due to spinal compression is COULD be something much more serious and therefore it is well worth his time and money to get it checked out. Especially since the other things that it COULD be are life threatening.
This will be the last I have to say on this topic in a public forum. If you want to continue this conversation Steel and I would be glad to in a PM.

I just noticed that the default fire texture doesn't show up. The only things i've edited so far is the texture in the terrain.png and the size of it. It's 128x128 since it's 8x. I have optifine installed which has the hd texture fix included. Anyone know how to fix it?
I'm not sure what you're describing. Is the fire not rendering correctly? Because both optifine and mc patcher should render it automatically. You can only change its appearance using custom animation files. Changing the 'fire tex' on the terrain.png has no effect.
If you're still having trouble, it might be that a recent update to mc patch/optifine has a glitch that prevents rendering of fire for packs less than 16x. It worked a few updates ago, but it might be having trouble now. If so, post a bug report on those threads.
I was going to reply privately to Steelfeathers, but I really feel this needs to be said, just so people understand why this blew up like it did. This is not my attempt to justify, blame, or do anything but explain a very real problem in society that I don't think many people that have not experienced it are aware of. I know there's good intentions there and I know that some things can be treated through holistic methods, but Steelfeathers is actually making a very, very good point about invalidating what someone is going through. It took two years for me to find a diagnosis for my disorder and in that time I ran the whole gambit of 'it's all in your head' and the blaming of 'it's your fault you're not controlling this better.' The end result was I lost my job and had such bad anxiety about being in public (a cripple that can't control her own illness doesn't belong in society, after all) that I'd sit there and sob before I could work up the nerve to leave my apartment to get groceries. It wasn't until I got a dog and started meeting people with her by my side that I got past feeling like a freak. It took even longer to stop feeling like it's my fault that I have this.
If you want to offer advice, I understand, but please keep in mind that the only person who knows what is happening with their body is the person going through it and they need to have their experience respected and trusted. Otherwise it's very easy to take that next step from 'if I eat better, I'll feel better' to 'it's my fault I have this problem.' Society tends to reinforce this viewpoint that there is something wrong with you instead of you have a disorder that makes your life hard.
I'm not saying you shouldn't try to help someone, but please think very hard about what you want to say before saying it and ask yourself, 'will this make the person feel like they are at fault for something they cannot control?'
There. I'm done with my Disability/Illness 101 spiel. There will be an exam over this next week, so make sure to read pages 5-28 as homework. I'm not one to continue an argument, but I feel very strongly about this and want people to understand why this sort of thing can evoke such a strong reaction. I'd be happy to talk more over pm.
We could all make an e-card, maybe? Anybody know a website that lets you do that?
I'm fond of someecards, but the space it gives you is miniscule.
In the spirit of texture making, maybe everyone could throw down a texture (either from one of their already made packs or just something they made on the spot) and someone could quilt it together in photoshop and overlay some sort of well-wishing message? o:

...like a texture collage? Um...I think just a normal card might work better. He might not like us throwing our textures in his face. :tongue.gif:
We can still use our art skillz on it, though. :biggrin.gif:
Amount of people that are ACTIVE in the union devided by the size of the card?
We're discussing (on skype) having everyone fill in a square of a certain size with whatever image/art they want, and then stitching the squares together to form the get well card.

Let us leave it at "we are all concerned for drfrozen and his condition whatever it may be"
I can't wait to speak my mind again
That's a fine idea. :smile.gif:

hmm...that's really strange...
Try using MC patch on a new jar file and see if it it shows back up. If it does, then it's an issue with optifine not rendering the fire.
No problem. :smile.gif:

Some people aren't so good at HD textures. We should just make a pretty artsy card instead. :3
I'd be totally willing to draw a little something if anyone needs me to :smile.gif:
