Those look beautiful. Can you tell me exactly what textures those are though?
Sure! The floor is made of Dark Prismarine, the ceiling is netherrack. The brightly colored stone walls are stained clay, and the yellow/orange slabs are Sandstone+Red Sandstone. The bright honey-colored blocks are glowstone, and the ceiling fixture is yellow glass. There's quartz pillars in the corners of the rooms, along with grass, trapdoors, and rosebushes. The carpet is grey and red, and the table is oak with nether brick under it. On the table is an iron pressure plate and a flower pot.

I modified Syxes' book texture to look more like some sort of tablet.
You can use it if you want, Syxes, but you have to give credit.

I want any feedback, tips, help, anything you have to say or think about it. Again don't hold back, don't sugar-coat any of it. I want your completely honest feedback. If you hate it then tell me why, if you like it then tell me why.
Does this count as off-topic? I mean it's still art but this is about textures, but I have seen other artwork on here... so... yeah.
I updated the Village Square with everything I've done since the 1.8 release. Overhauled all the GUI's and a lot of other tedious things that had been there since my first release. Here's a preview of some of the blocks I did recently.
I'm trying to match everything up style-wise but I have a ways to go.

I'm no longer entering the simple pack competition, so I've spent the last few hours on something else instead. I'm not sold on the redstone ore, but any thoughts and opinions? Is it worth going ahead with?
I think the dark border of the redstone "gem" area needs to be at the actual edge. See there are more base-color-red pixels past the dark border.
You could break it into smaller "gems" instead of the one large one, but that's all up to you.

Hey guys. I've dusted off a pack I started a couple years ago. I'm a bit rusty, so I'm curious what you guys might think about it. Don't go easy on me. Let me have it.
I feel like I'm gunna get a lot of flack with the direction I chose for my Jungle stuff. Keep in mind I plan on adding CTM to all the planks, as well as the Iron Block.

I feel like the jungle stuff is a tad bit noisy, but that may just be me.
Also, they look great and I love how you've individualized the textures. Perhaps you could make the current textures for the jungle alternate, and create new base ones?
THERE'S A LITTLE OWL. AND THE DOORS. AND THE WOOD. ANSDJG;. i love it this is so cute
is it available for download now or are you still working on it forever and ever because i want it and i love it and good job i think it's really cute and the owl is super adorable and the face in the dark one dfldladf??

VERY nice! Finally, some ye olde 32x style textures that don't look like Johnsmith. Your work reminds me more of Rise of Tredonia.
What I like:
-The woods have excellent colors, and the metal hues complement them very well.
-That iron block(?) is awesome. Would certainly look odd in builds made using Default, but it has a lot of potential uses.
-The owl. And the old man's face (reminds me of Derivation's birch log)
-Metal rims on the acacia planks look pretty sweet. Interesting idea.
-Pineapple door
What I dislike:
-In vanilla, the iron door is similarly solid/imposing as the oak/spruce doors. Your design looks oddly light and sparse compared to the solid-looking doors and iron block.
-Shading on the c.table drawers looks a bit overly round. Unless that's what you intended, then I suppose it works.
-The powered rail(?) red parts look like gems of some sort. I'd shade them differently, so that the rail looks less like a peice of ancient treasure.
-So, what are the jungle logs supposed to be? Bamboo clusters? Regardless of what they are, the angled look that the sides have doesn't appeal to me. I imagine it would become very repititive in a jungle.

Man I love the concepts. The owl and old man look awesome! Can't wait for this to be uploaded.
I'm really liking what I'm seeing for the most part but I have to say, the jungle log looks a lot lower quality than the other textures. Weird diagonal gradient, non-rounded, strange checked pattern bark. Just looks very out of place in comparison to the other logs. The planks seem fine though.
Another thing you might want to look at is the dark oak door. It has a border around it that looks like it's mean to be an arched door in stone or something, but the whole rectangle texture is going to swing open which will look very strange imo with its current border.

What he could have the door open without the border opening too by using Custom Block Models

Looks good. I love the glowstone!
True. I never thought about that.

I agree, the redstone ore just doesn't fit. The other textures look great though!

@halucid:
Maybe, going off what Sheep said, you could use CTM to add the door border onto the blocks surrounding it? Just a thought.
Hey guys.. long time no see. Life has been a nightmare the past year and is only just becoming stable again.
If you wantr to find out what happened to me, I typed it all up as I had pretty much vanished from everywhere.
But I'm semi back now.. and it looks like I have a lot of work to do to get my back back up to date.
