Whew damn doc! That is a fine Skybox! I'm wondering about that thing too... is the format given by Xahr there for use with x16 and to bump it up is the same as most any other texture or does it fit a specific format.
Theyre basically custom clouds, stars and whatever you want in the sky, im not sure how to make them yet, but there is probably something on the mcpatcher thread, since it is a mod inside mcpatcher. Therre are blends and transitions, so it is fairly well made but im sure it would have some bugs that arent yet discovered.
It is all in one pverlay, so no random features (i guess) but as i understand you can have multiple skyboxes rotating/scrolling across the sky changes to night or day , respectively.

It is specific to the standard resolutions, if that makes sense. I also think that each individual square of the skybox can't be larger than 2048x2048 because it stopped working when it was larger than that.
I think I like 24x in pixel art. Amazing resolution. Not as defined as 32x, but more detailed than 16x. Plus, the pixels blends perfectly at the resolution. I've got a few textures done over the past two days, and I really like them.
Hey, um very late response, but damn... Will pack... skybox... bossness...
Also I LoL, just sayin' (and I want in)
I really need to at some point finish my pack and then y'know join the TAU. Yeah, I'll get on that at some point. Problem I'm having is that I keep switchin' styles partway through. Kind of ruining my art flow, real issue is that I'm still having troubles doing something as simple as wood even though I can handle other textures just fine. Seriously, I need help on wood, planks mostly, I have examples that I hate, but nothing I like. Please for the love of... actually can't think of anything right now, could someone make a plank tutorial?
EDIT: Because I forgot this while I was typing all that. Steelfeathers wins at everything forever. I like her new pack. that is all.
Drfrozernfire add me on Steam It's 'Alanay' or 'AlanaySerter' I can never remember.
is there a TAU steam group? if not... make one! perhaps we could eventually expand beyond minecraft, and become a much bigger thing. plenty of steam games have custom texture support.
Is there too much contrast in colors for the stone brick?
one thing you should really take into consideration... the fact that you have noisy materials, then flat color dividing them is really a bit annoying. add some variation to the space between planks, and mortar and such. also, the white mortar between the bricks was just a terrible choice far too bright
the stone brick's contrast is good, but there's that one odd L shaped brick in it, which might stand out in a bad way once you tile the image. but you really cant tell unless you try it.

I need to knopw, white windows or brown! It's for a modern (Like, nowadays.) pack, so I thought the white would look like the double glazed windows e'rrywhere!
Maybe I'll download TF2 again so I can play with him sometime...
Also, drfrozen, how get awesome stars? Seriously, they look amazing, I wouldn't mind making an awesome sky like that for my pack!

regular size
over grown size
That's exactly what he said...?
Thanks for the compliment! Also, you can add me on steam, I play tf2 sometimes.

Pictures? I want to see them.
Happy birthday.
The white in the bricks doesn't fit in, and it's an eye-sore.
I really like that stone brick, but I agree with Stronghold. Darker mortar for the bricks looks better I think.

beautiful textures O.O
especially the grass color.
the top left one (brick? wood?) reminds me of summerfields stone a bit.

Ooh.... Perty. Also, this got ignored:
That's an updated image BTW.
ok cool! lookalike i'm gonna have some fun
I think either one would work well.
There's yet more to come!
I used the base colors form the WTC:
I prefer brown windows for building purposes. But the white windows do fit with the theme so... Your choice
And a few things...
Your ores are awesome.
Your planks, I am envious of. And of your sand and gravel too.
But your grass still doesn't pop and there is bleeding colors on your stone slab side texture.
