I think everything looks great!
The only thing that stand out to me is that the arrows seem to a bit too long, as they're going completely through the bowstring. If you shortened the arrows so that the end of the fletching is resting on the bowstring, it'd all be just about perfect.
--------------
On another note, after going years without, I finally got a scanner hooked up!
Here are a few of the concept drawings I've come up with over the last couple months (since the time my cellphone stopped sending pictures).
A bunch of them are for the texturepack, but there's some cool HD player skins in there too.
For example...
Raziel with transparent Wings cape (HS skin), and various plants
MORE:
Manny Calavera (HD skin) and various plant sprites...
Batman (HD skin), and a few H.P. Lovecraft-inspired villagers! (currently, I plan on making these guys for the texturepack)
New mini-Creeper concept!
For this one, the head would be transparent, as well as the bottom and sides of the legs (giving them an insectoid feel)
Honestly, if I do go with this one (RandomMobs!), I may try out some facial animations as well!
Thor & Loki HD skins!
(I've also come up with a pretty cool standard face for my HD skins)
Pinhead & Spawn HD skins
Joker HD skin!
This is the one, out of all of these, that I have to make.
I'm thinking of using the outer head layer for most of the head, and cutting out the mouth; So the teeth are sunken in from the face.
As always, let me know what you think!
If any of you guys have ideas for them, or any cool ideas in general, let me know!
The general theme of my pack is "whatever I think is neat at the time", so I'm always open to new concepts.
Hello! My name is Reec3ty, and I have been doing textures for games since 2009, when I was only 13. I do not like the original details of some games, and even enjoy modifying open-source versions of games, such as Mario, where I changed the characters to bowling balls and Mario as a bowling pin.
Straight to the point, I would enjoy becoming a member of the T.A.U. as I need a small community who understands and has knowledge of artwork. Now I am fairly new to texturing at a game such as this, being 8-bit game texturing and all, so this has been somewhat of a challenge, but nevertheless, I have started work upon a texture pack called Cutie Craft. Enjoy this teaser from the texture pack:
I understand that you think/know that this is a Simple texture pack, and I have read that I will be under heavy consideration of being joined, yet I do believe that I work 4 block textures a day, and 1 mob texture over 2 days. I try and make the pack look glossy and bright, not unlike Jolicraft, but more approachable. This is debatable to be considered "Simple" even amongst my friends cannot decide.
Once I have completed this texture pack thoroughly, I will start to work on a 32x rather than jumping to 64x so I can feel comfortable. I would very much enjoy a Gold Members emblem for my signature.
Looking forward to hearing your feedback!
~Kyle
P.S. AppleSlinky referred me here :3
EDIT: I have another texture pack that I created for an old map that I ditched, check out my other texture pack here, Mario Evolved.
@Reec3ty
I would totally let you in, but that's not my decision :/
I would agree that your pack is very simple and stuff, but I think it has a lot of potential. One thing though, is that you could base it less upon default, as an example; flowers, pumpkins, tnt, redstone, leaves, sidegrass, etc. It would make it feel more distinct. Also, I think you pretty much used the default colours for the mineral blocks?
Also, I really like the design for the rails
Monorails, fastest way to travel. And about the tnt, I'm looking to change it into a grey powder grenade. Leaves are having a complete overhaul too, being replaced with hexagonal leaves. Iron has a new colour, bright white!
Yes, they are a stand-in until I complete the real version of them. I have labeled that they are from the painterly in the .zip folder of every version until I upload the custom files. (Sorry about the confusion though)
[/spoiler]Thank you for your application. It is under review.
By the way, I've seen the 'I S O L A T E D MANSION' thread. It really looks like a good concept. Impressed, I am.
Thanks man. I'm hoping to get it done and release some drawings and sketches. If you would like, you can check out my DeviantArt page here. I upload all my work there.
Once I finish my "Simple" Texture pack, I am going to move onto a 32x one called Tribal. It will focus on tribe rpg style gaming, with armours allocating the different tiki masks and strengths of the groups. The 16x one I am doing is just a test of my abilities, and I would like to finish it and work upon the 32x. I'm not one for doing a half -snip- job at things.
I hope to hear back from the community as well, and what they think of the idea.
Creating minecraft textures is all new for me, still I've been designing a lot these days, so I figured I should try making one. I seek to find something new to get involved with in the community, therefore I'd like to join this small fellowship, since I'm generally interested in design.
You don't have to worry about copyright issues, since I haven't stolen a pixel from anything. All is made with photoshop from a white background. My pack have been really appreciated by the folks on my server, but the thread on this forums doesn't get much comments at all. I hope to get more feedback from other artists.
The pack has the most common block finished, and depending on the demand, I'll make the tools as well.
So I am thinking of how I can execute this game that I am working on, I am either going to do a side scroller or a pokemon styled perspective. Just wanted to know you guys' opinions on this before I start making textures and sprites for the game.
It is an RPG btw.
I just found out that some people from my school are youtube famous?!

@Aussie_mod: The subject of your original game has nothing to do with minecraft texturing, and is therefore off-topic. Please move the conversation about it someplace else. Don't make me slap you guys with the warning stick.

Done with the sandstone, since I've already made them. (When they weren't in game yet)
I'm not sure about the new planks though. Is it like a separate plank for each type of wood? That'd be wicked :3
Yup-- pine, birch, and jungle log now each get their own planks. Which could be awesome for having both rough planks and dark stained planks in the same pack. (Although it means more work for me. Joy.)
New planks? Bit of a burden, but this may actually work out for me. A lot of my logs don't fit with the regular planks, so this should be fun to create.
Any ideas for what I should do with my hieroglyphs?
Fools! All our efforts have been to waste!
I just ran a test, and Minecraft can run WITHOUT a terrain.png!
To note, I deleted the terrain.png and META-INF in my Minecraft.jar, and have no texture packs or mods installed.
I have only tried it on one computer, I'll try it on another in a few hours.
Anyone is free to try and replicate my results if they wish, as I said, here's what you need to do:
Use a vanilla minecraft.jar
Remove all texture packs you have installed
Delete the terrain.png inside your minecraft.jar
Delete the META-INF folder inside your minecraft.jar
Run Minecraft
Load a world
Take a screenshot
????
Profit!

Oh yeah... your right. *Scurries Away*
On the other hand, it's wicked cool that we can now have regular sandstone AND hieroglyphic sandstone.
Anyone start on them yet?
Yup-- pine, birch, and jungle log now each get their own planks. Which could be awesome for having both rough planks and dark stained planks in the same pack. (Although it means more work for me. Joy.)
As for the planks, I just modified the hues and brightnesses of normal wood. Building is now even more awesome.
I play Slave Hack, give it a try!
Any ideas for what I should do with my hieroglyphs?

I've pretty much given up on texturing for this game. I can't keep up with the updates and, frankly, I don't care enough.
Booooooooo!!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hi again, guys. Been a lil' while. I hope I wasn't forgotten! D:
I'm loving 1.2.4. Now, people don't have to ask me about the planks anymore!
