Thanks, it didn't glitch out, but what numbers change what directions. Like [ 0, 0, 0 ] what does the first 0 do and what does the second do and what does the 3rd do? Because right now, nothing seems to be moving when i change numbers.
It goes in order X, Y, Z.
X and Z are horizontal directions, Y is vertical.
If you weren't seeing movement, the important thing to remember is the different display modes.
firstperson: when held in hand in 1st person view
this is for 1.8 (my example was outdated. I forgot about that, sorry!)
1.9+ uses firstperson_lefthand and firstperson_righthand (if you only use 1, the other will be mirrored from the one you include)
thirdperson and thirdperson_lefthand + thirdperson_righthand: same as firstperson but in third person (when you hit F5) obviously
ground: for dropped items
fixed: item frames
gui: inventory/chests
head: how it is placed on the head when worn as a helmet/hat (there's a command to do this with any item/block)

I'm having some trouble with my fence post and item frame models and I'd appreciate some help.
All of my models work fine when my pack is uncompressed, but when run as a .zip the fence post and item frame models don't show their textures and just display purple.
I'm confused as to what the problem is considering it runs fine as a folder. I've attached screenshots below just to illustrate it exactly.
Edit: Tweaked a bunch of things while reloading the resource pack with no result. Then restarted minecraft, and suddenly it works. Not sure what thing fixed it, but it's working now!
I'm not sure if this is the best place to post this question, but does anyone know how to change the block state of a model? I'm trying to make the Jukebox an orientable model (like a furnace or a chest) because I made a texture for the front part of the Jukebox. I tried replacing the 'parent' model of the jukebox to block/orientable and I added the different 'variations' like y: 90 etc. etc. but it still doesn't change.

What can I do?
Mod the game to make it possible.
One of the flaws in the block models system over the old numerical system is that by giving names to the states people assume that any state is valid for any block. This is blatantly false. All of the states of a block have to correspond to a number that's reserved specifically for that state of specifically that block. When someone says "pick a number between 1 and 10", a rational mind doesn't automatically assume that "11" is a valid answer... and yet in effect that's exactly what you're trying to do.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but no matter how hard you try you can't change the nature of a block to be what you want it to be. At least now without modding.
Damn guess I'll have to stick to top-facing jukeboxes
oh and anyone here know how to change the 1.8 item models to 1.11? I made some models in 1.8 but when I upgraded to 1.11 the items are all weird (they are not in the hand, too big, or too small)
I am wondering if anyone has been able to create connected textures in 1.11 yet? I have looked at, researched, and created the needed blockstate and models json files, but the only thing that works is the base texture. I have yet to get anyone to provide any info on the subject on how to go about accomplishing this.
