Ok, another question. I'm trying to retexture stone pressure plates. It is block 70, right? So I just need a block70.png or a block70.properties, right? Why can't I get it to work as either a ctm or a normal block?

Sorry, I'm not that great with CTM. Can you post the contents of your file so I can check it out? Maybe I can spot something.
Also, remember that it has to be in the right folder. /assets/minecraft/mcpatcher/ctm/(any-folder-name-here)/block70.properties
If you have stone ctm named stone.properties that will sit ontop of any block#.properties that use stone. If you don't have this, seeing how it's only one tile, use method=fixed. And do you really need to specify faces=top for a plate? I guess if you placed it on a fencepost or something you could see a different bottom, if that is your intention.
I do have a stone properties ctm. Does that mean there is no way to retexture the pressure plate?
I don't use "name".properties but if it simply overwrites all applicable stone textures like filmjolk says, you just need to rename stone.properties to block1.properties. Then it won't overwrite all textures that use the stone texture. Therefore, your block70.properties should work instead of being overwritten.
Hmm, ok. I've got a cool idea for stained glass, so I'm poking around with the snapshot and none of my ctms work.
Have things changed around *again* for 1.7? I swear I spend as much time trying to fix my pack after an update as I do adding new stuff. Anyone know what the changes are so I can get ahead of it?
Edit: Oh, it is probably an Optifine issue. It isn't updated for 13w41b of course. Nevermind! But it is a really cool idea! Stay tuned!
And since I don't need a dozen different tints on my glass, I'm gonna use the various stained glass in 1.7 to do other cool things with custom windows for my city/pack. Here is one example of rounded ends to windows that are designed specifically to fit in buildings using the black stained clay block:
Once Optifine comes out for 1.7 I can mix different types of glass and make a cool looking window like in this building:
I keep finding it hard to find a reason to post. Everything looks so good and all I want to do is post and say "EVERYTHING LOOKS SOOO GOOD!", but that's totally not my style. I want to critique and criticize darnit! So... um....
...
Your glass looks kinda bad with those streaks in it. That's it. Everything else is wonderful.
Please don't hold back, I never tire of people telling me how good stuff looks.
I could get rid of the streaks. I was thinking they didn't look great, but my glass is very minimalist so in some cases it may be hard to tell there is glass there at all. Especially for large areas. So I wanted some more of a sign that there was glass there. Any suggestions?
And what do you think of the shadows under the desk?

It also works as a credenza/sideboard:

One of the few textures I've made without any ctm. Though that very well may change soon... heh.

They look very natural. I like it.
